The upper view shows how-
groups of big stum ps are blasted
out clean a t one time, with all
d irt off th e roots and stum ps shat
tered into kindling wood. At the
same time the subsoil is thoroughly
broken np, creating a fine home
for tile new crop. Lower view
shows a celery crop worth $800
per acre ten m onths a 'te r »tumps
were blasted out.
To learn how progressive farmers
are using dynam ite for removing
stum ps and boulders, planting and
cultivating fruit trees, regenerating
barren soil, ditching, draining, ex
cavating, and roud-uiaking.
