but in 1885 he becam e a rep o rter

beat.
Mr. W ells was born in Ohio, Sep­
tem ber 5, 1852. He is survived by
his wife, tw o sons and one d au g h ­
ter. He was well know n th ro u g h o u t
ea ste rn M ultnom ah, having been a
m em ber of E astern S ta r g ran g e and
an h o n o rary m em ber of M. A. Ross
P ost, G. A. R., ot G resham .
