The Heppner Mus-

played the top two teams in
the Blue Mountain Confer-

the game by the score of
59-39.
Alakae Rodriguez

With two points each were
Caleb George and Tripp
Stewart. Marty Medina had
five rebounds in the game
and Jackson Coiner finished
with two rebounds and two
assists.
The Mustangs made
the long trip to Enterprise
and started the game slowly.
Heppner trailed at the end
of the first quarter 15-6
and 31-15 at halftime. En-
terprise, which features
6’7” and 6’4” post players
and a host of quick guards,
continued to control the
pace of the game and led
43-23 as the fourth quarter
started. Heppner played the
Outlaws closer in the final
frame but still lost the game
54-31.
A balanced scoring at-
tack saw Caylan Proudfoot
lead the team in scoring
with eight. Mason Orem fol-
lowed with six points, three
rebounds and two assists.
Scoring five points, hauling
down four rebounds, having
four steals and dishing out
three assists was Marty Me-

The Mustangs pulled
out a big road win over the
Outlaws last Friday, before
losing to the Stanfield Ti-
gers on Saturday.
The Mustangs (13-6
overall, 4-3 BMC) were
ranked ninth in Blue Moun-
tain Conference standings
going into the game against
the fourth-ranked Enter-
prise team. They raced out
to an early 8-2lead in the
first quarter. Cici Stefani
put in five points in the sec-
ond quarter to give Heppner
a 16-12 lead at the half.
The Lady Mustangs
continued their winning
ways in the second half,
outscoring the Outlaws
15-7 to take the win with a
final score of 31-19.
Hallee Hisler led the
Lady Mustangs with eight
points and seven rebounds,
while Stefani had seven
points and six rebounds.
Healy Hisler and Lily Nich-
ols each had five points,
while Isa Payne hauled
down six rebounds.
The Lady Mustangs
lost their momentum on
Saturday, when they lost at
home 51-28 to the BMC’s
number-two ranked team,
the Stanfield Tigers.
The Tigers have been
a tough team to beat this
season. The Stanfield team
has several tall players with
one of their most formida-
ble players, Mazie Reeser,
topping the list at 5’11”.
It was Reeser who scored
23 of Stanfield’s 51 game
points.
The Tigers outscored
the Lady Mustangs 33-10
at the half. Even though
the Heppner girls closed the
gap with an even second
half, they were unable to
overtake the Tigers before
the final buzzer.
Cici Stefani led Hep-
pner in scoring with 13
points, while Hallee Hisler
chipped in nine.
The Lady Mustangs
are currently seventh in
the BMC standings. They
travel to Grant Union to
face the Prospectors at 6
p.m. Friday before hosting
the Weston-McEwen Ti-
gerScots Saturday at 4 p.m.
Delaney Stefani is still out
with an injury, but may see
action next week.
