Morrow County Broadband Project
moves forward with network assessments
Morrow County, OR
– In a significant move
toward closing the digital
divide, the Morrow Coun-
ty Broadband team has
announced ongoing efforts
to bring high-speed fiber
optic internet to over 200
unserved residents in the
county. Engineers from
LightSpeed Networks are
currently conducting sur-
veys and assessments in
preparation for laying new
fiber optic routes, promis-
ing to deliver gigabit-level
speeds to homes and busi-
nesses.
The project marks a
major milestone in Morrow
County’s goal to ensure that
every resident and business
has access to the fast, reli-
able internet connectivity
essential for modern work,
education, and communi-
cation.
In the coming weeks,
residents may notice Light-
Speed Networks crews in
their neighborhoods as they
plan the most efficient paths
for the new fiber infra-
structure. While the work
is crucial for designing
an effective network, the
Morrow County Broadband
team acknowledges that
construction can sometimes
cause disruptions. Team
members have assured the
public that they will make
every effort to minimize
inconvenience and will
keep residents informed of
progress and any temporary
impacts to daily routines.

Ranch 21.7 miles of fiber,

OR. A red Dodge Durango
sped past the RP, who be-
lieves the vehicle attempted
to hit him, speeding up and
turning away at the last
minute. The RP stated that
the driver appeared to be a
young male.

Welfare Check:
Occurred on SE Gilm-
ore St, Heppner, OR. The
RP requested a welfare
check, stating concerns that
someone being released
may come home angry and
take it out on a female at the
residence.

Occurred at Lakeview
Heights on Willow Creek
Rd, Heppner, OR. The RP
was cleaning out a client’s
room and found what they
requested it be picked up.

red Durango with blacked-
out windows was reported
speeding down Division,
turning down Seventh, and
accelerating quickly.

blue Chevy car, 4-door,
driven by a female, was re-
ported speeding down Utah
from Tenth and running the

torcycle with no plates was
reported speeding at 102
mph, attempting to evade a
stop. The driver was wear-
ing black clothing and a
black helmet, with another

Harassment:
Occurred on SE Utah
Ave, Irrigon, OR. The RP
requested to speak to a
deputy about ongoing ha-
rassment. Contact could be
made by phone or in person.

Occurred on SE Court
St, Heppner, OR. The RP
reported a blue heeler with
an orange collar in her
backyard. The dog is known
to be aggressive, and the
RP believes it belongs to a
neighbor who doesn’t seem
to care.

James was issued a cita-
tion for “dog as a public
nuisance.”
