has announced the honor
roll for the second semester
of the 2023-24 school year.
Making the honor roll

Brady Goss at
Boardman Music in
the Park
Brady Goss
Brady Goss will per-
form at Music in the Parks
in Boardman on July 10.
The concert will take place
at Boardman Marina Park.
Goss was described
from an early age as “piano
phenom.” Today he is rec-
ognized as an electrifying
entertainer. Those who have
witnessed his live shows
are awed by his formidable
keyboard speed and soulful
vocals, loaded with passion
that keeps fans of all ages
wanting more.
The concerts are free
to the public and begin at
7 p.m. on Monday nights.
Visitors are encouraged to
bring chairs and blankets.
The series is funded by the
Morrow County Unified
Recreation District and
Portland General Electric
and sponsored by the North
Morrow Community Foun-
dation.
In the event of inclem-
ent weather, Boardman
performances will be held
at the SAGE Center.

the project were big con-
siderations, Sweeney said,
as were some of the special
challenges Heppner faces
when it comes to construc-
tion.
“Heppner has to grap-

tions,” said Sweeney.
The Heppner City
Council will be discussing
the project more at its next
regular meeting July 10 at 7
p.m. at Heppner City Hall.

golfers gathered at the Con-
don Country Club Golf
Course in Condon on June
12 for the Columbia Blue
Senior Golf Association
Tournament. With a par-
72 course awaiting them,
the players were divided
into three divisions based
on their handicaps. The
competition was fierce, but
camaraderie filled the air as
golfers from various clubs
showcased their skills.
In the Columbia Divi-
sion, which encompassed
players with handicaps
ranging from 0 to 15, the
battle for first place on the
gross side ended in a tie
between Jason Ward of
Beacon Rock and Duane
Disque of Willow Creek
Country Club. Both players
impressively carded a score
of 75.
On the net side, a four-
way tie for first place en-
sued, with Tim Wright and
Scott Burright, both from
W.C.C.C., leading the pack
with net scores of 64. Mike
Kyles of Milton-Freewater
and Dave Messenger of
Condon also joined the
winners’ circle with their
net scores of 64.
Moving on to the Blue
Division, reserved for play-
ers with handicaps ranging
Cooper Stefani, Joel
Wilson, JJ McDaniel,
Charlie Mullins and Gage
Rosenbalm.
In softball, the Colum-
bia Juniors team coached by
Kevin Payne, Taylor Mc-
Daniel, and Larissa Gray
also took second place in
the tournament. Columbia
Juniors beat Harney County
18-7, then lost to Pilot Rock
in the championship game.
The Juniors softball team
included players Maya
Payne, Isa Payne, CiCi Ste-
fani, Avree Lathrop, Havin
Gray, Hailey McDaniel and
McKenzie Maben.
The Columbia 10U
Baseball team won the dis-
trict title with an impressive
run across their seven days
of play. The boys opened
the tournament with a 13-3
rout of Pendleton, then beat
Pilot Rock 14-1, Baker 11-1
and LaGrande 10-0 to put
them into the championship
game.
The championship
from 16 to 21, John Mach-
ado of Big River and Pete
Kelly of The Dalles C.C.
shared the top spot on the
gross side, each scoring
an 81.
On the net side, Lee
Balentine and Harry Wi-
throw, representing Pine
Meadow, clinched the first-
place position with their
impressive net scores of 62.
Rod Wilson of W.C.C.C.
secured fourth place on the
gross side with a score of
85, while Tom Shear, also
from W.C.C.C., claimed
eighth place on the net side
with a score of 70.
In the Senior Division,
where handicaps were 22
and over, Scott Rod of Bea-
con Rock emerged victori-
ous on the gross side, shoot-
ing an 81. Chuck Heinrich
of Echo Hills claimed the
top spot on the net side, his
31 handicap giving him a
net score of 62.
Looking ahead, the next
event is set to take place on
July 10 at the China Creek
course in Arlington. Two

Kason Botefur, and Urijah
Wedding.
The Columbia 10U
baseball team will be com-
peting in the Oregon State
Little League All Star Tour-
nament July 22-27 in La
Grande, OR.
