NOTICE OF BUDGET HEARING
A public meeting of the Ione Lexington Cemetery Maintenance District will be held on May 08, 2023 at 11:00 am at Ione Rural Fire District Hall, 150 W Main, Ione, OR. The
purpose of this meeting is to discuss the budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2023 as approved by the Ione Lexington Cemetery Maintenance Distric Budget Committee.
A summary of the budget is presented below. A copy of the budget may be inspected or obtained at Bank of Eastern Oregon 280 Main St, Ione OR, between the hours of 9:00
am and 4:00 pm or email for a copy at ionelexcemdist@gmail.com. This budget is for an annual budget period. This budget was prepared on a basis of accounting that is the

The Heppner High
School chapter of the Tech-
nology Student Association
(TSA) competed at the Or-
egon TSA State Leadership
Conference last week.
The state officers did a
leadership workshop called
“Communicathalon” for
members attending. In
Dragster Design, Dailen
Schultz took second and
Thomas Bales, third.
For VEX robotics,
Rylee Palmer was first with
Lily Nichols second and
Delilah Sauceda third.
For Technology Prob-
lem Solving, Madison
Palmer and Jacob Finch
placed first, with Trever
Nichols and Saul Lopez
second.
There was also a Fash-
ion Design event.
Several Heppner mem-
bers also ended their terms
as state officers, while oth-
ers took on the state leader-
ship mantle.
Outgoing state officers
are Madison Palmer, presi-
dent, and Jacob Finch and
Trevor Nichols, officers.
Incoming state offi-
cers are Rylee Palmer, Lily
Nichols, Elizabeth Finch
and Delilah Sauceda.
Five Heppner TSA
members will be going in
June to the National TSA
Conference in Louisville,
KY. They are Madison and
Rylee Palmer, Jacob and
Elizabeth Finch, and Del-
ilah Sauceda.
The Heppner Junior
High TSA Chapter will be
competing at its state com-
petition on May 11.
County High School.
Scholarships for $500
were also awarded to Wash-
ington seniors Cadence
Monson, Jonathan Peter-
son and Olivia Ng, Colfax
High School, and Wyatt
Schwartz, LaCrosse High
School.

gon has announced its 2023
high school senior scholar-
ship recipients. Local recip-
ients include seniors Bryce
Rollins, Carson Eynetich
and Madison Orem, all of
Ione High School.
This scholarship is
awarded to students plan-
ning to enroll in agriculture
or business in college, and
judging is based on schol-
arship, leadership and cit-
izenship. Applications are
accepted from graduating
seniors in the areas where
Bank of Eastern Oregon
and Bank of Eastern Wash-
ington branches and loan
offices are located.
Along with the Ione re-
cipients, $500 scholarships
were awarded to Oregon
seniors Collin Rovey and
James Frisch, Cove High
School; Lindsay Hill, Ste-
ven Hammond and Tayleur

Heppner FFA elects officers
The Board will consider the comments received to draft and adopt a new Ambulance Service Area Plan and designation of the bound-
aries of any ambulance service areas at a future meeting. The County is currently operating under the 1998 Ambulance Service Area
Plan and Ordinance MC-C-4-98.
The Public Hearing details are as follows:

Neighborhood
Center to open
Mondays as of
May 8
The Neighborhood
Center in Heppner will
continue to be closed on
Monday through the first
week of May. It will open
again on Mondays begin-
ning May 8. Daily hours
will remain 10 a.m. to 4
p.m.
The Neighborhood
Center will again accept do-
nations for the thrift store,
but only on Mondays and
Fridays.
The Neighborhood
Center board says it appre-
ciates everyone’s support
during this “time of tran-
sition.”
Over the Tee Cup
A few daring ladies
of Willow Creek Country
Club braved the wind on
Tuesday, April 11, for the
first play day of the season.
The winners of the
scramble play day were
Virginia Grant, Pat Dough-
erty and Karen Smith-Grif-
fith. Second place was the
team of Tiffany Clement,
Kim Carlson and Sharon
Harrison.
The sun came out and
better weather greeted the
nine participants on April
25 in Heppner.
Low gross of the field
went to Virginia Grant.
Sharon Harrison took low
net, and Karen Thompson
had least putts.
Tiffany Clement had
low gross for Flight A and
Karen Wolff low gross for
Flight B. For Flight C, Kris
Lindner had low gross,
Karen Smith-Griffith low
net and Jackie Allstott least
putts.
In other events, Jackie
Allstott had the longest putt
on #5.
May tee time is 9 a.m.
May 30 is the guest lun-
cheon.
