volunteers to serve on
a new Water Advisory
Committee. This initial re-
cruitment is to find persons
to represent the following:
irrigated agriculture, con-
fined animal feedlot oper-
ator/owner, central county
agriculture, irrigated ag-
riculture, food processing
and a rural residential land-
owner. This charter Water
Advisory Committee will
typically meet quarterly.
Initially, the committee
will review work of the
water consultant and make
policy recommendations
to the Board of Commis-
sioners on a number of wa-
ter-related matters such as
water quantity, water qual-
ity, nitrates in water and
other regional water devel-
opment projects. Persons
interested are encouraged
to submit a letter of inter-
est to the Morrow County
Planning Department, PO
Box 40, Irrigon OR 97844,
by 5pm Friday April 14,
2023. Committee appoint-
ment is anticipated to
made on April 19th by the
Board of Commissioners.
