CARD OF THANKS
Words sometimes seem
inadequate for express-
ing ourselves, and “Thank
you” seems inadequate to
Damon, Darci, my grand-
children, and me right now.
For beautiful cards, kind
words, words of comfort,
words of encouragement,
food, phone calls, visits,
assists when we needed
CARD OF THANKS CARD OF THANKS
them – we thank you all!
Your support truly means
so much to us, and feeling
your care helps to ease our
pain. Dan Brosnan crossed
paths with so many people
as he worked and played
throughout Oregon, and
I was fortunate to be by
his side for 57 years as he
did so. When our family
laid him to rest last Sun-
day, we had learned more
about the effect he had
had on lives beyond our
own, as we reaped over-
whelming remembrances,
kindnesses and sympathy
from his friends, co-work-
ers, and relatives who sent
their caring thoughts or
came to say their “good-
byes.”Thank you. 3-22 1c
Thank you for the honor
of being one of the Grand
Marshalls on the Irish Cof-
fee Hour this year and for
treating us to a parade ride
on the new Loop Bus. Kay
Proctor: organizing this
group was probably harder
than herding cats!
So many memories which
began at the first cof-
fee hour in 1982 to about
twenty years of schedules,
entertainment, contracts,
publicity food handler li-
censes, insurance, com-
mittee meetings, porta pot-
ties, fundraisers, details,
details, and many Irish
shenanigans, fill my head.
The reward was the Kuma
Coffee Hour and the Cei-
li, the place to be to enjoy
Irish music, hear real Irish
brogue, jokes , history,
and reunite with old and
meet new friends followed
by the Great green parade.
It takes a village, the
Chamber of Commerce,
the City of Heppner, Coun-
ties Morrow and Umatilla
to keep a Wee Bit of Ire-
land going and growing.
Event chairs and hundreds
of helpers are the greatest.
Couldn't happen without
you!Never lose the old
and the new, the reunions
and laughter, and listening
from the Irish calving pas-
ture! Remember forty plus
years from now , some-
where over the rainbow
or under a toadstool, we'll
be looking up or down to
see a Wee Bit O'Ireland in
Heppner Oregon. Thank
you from the bottom of my
heart!
Claudia Hughes.
(brevity was never my
long suit)
