relatively new hard red (non-Clearfield®) winter wheat developed by Scott Haley (retired from
CSU) and marketed “under” the PlainsGold brand. Blends were a 50/50 (%) mix of both
varieties. Grain protein data not yet available. Stripe rust pressure was low-to-moderate at this
location. Fungicide was not applied. Plant height of LCS Shine is less than that of other
varieties grown in eastern Oregon.
