Good News Only

Fair and Rodeo week.
Thanks go out to the many
individuals who have
worked hard to make it
happen. Thanks go out
this year to the entities that
enable us to attend free
of charge. And, since this
writer encouraged everyone
to enter at least one thing
in the fair, the search was
on here for anything that
might fulfill what seemed
an obligation. Alas. Noth-
ing created this year, again.
Nothing still looking good
in the flowerbeds. No gar-
den…. So, that seemed to
leave the Wheat League
Cake. It is in the oven as
this is being written. (It will,
at least take up space, and
it might add comic relief to
the competition.)
Ellis McRoberts en-
joyed a visit from his Los
Angeles family two week-
ends ago. His great grand-
son, Bodie, who is two
years old, was accompa-
nied by his parents, Ellis’s
granddaughter, Amy, and
her husband, Michael. The
family was one of the first
to experience a stay at the
newest Airbnb, on the cor-
ner of Main and Church
Streets, where they hosted
Ellis and his friend Kathy
Turner to dinner on that
Saturday evening. The re-
port on the dinner and the
accommodations is an A+
from Ellis and Kathy, creat-
ing a great memory with the
family before they headed
to the Portland area to visit
Ellis’s daughter, Debbie,
before returning south.
Mae Pence, Frank and
Cara Osmin’s granddaugh-
ter, is in Heppner visiting
her grandparents this week.
Mae is an avid thirteen-
year-old ice-hockey player
and will be playing with the
Lady Admirals, a team out
of Lynnwood, Washington.
Good luck to Mae..
Gayle Townsend re-
cently moved to Heppner
from Alaska with her hus-
band, Rodney Schaffer.
On Monday, a “meet-and-
greet” was held in Gayle’s
honor, and she can now add
another thirteen new faces
to those she will recognize
as she becomes part of the
community.
“Faded Joe’s barber
shop coming soon.” So
says the sign on North Main
Street, giving us another
change and Main Street ad-
dition to watch for and look
forward to. Great news.
A relief for this MeMa:

IRS hiring 87,000 new agents
To the editor:
The IRS is hiring new
special agents. 87,000. “Re-
quirements include working
min 50 hours per week,
which may include irreg-
ular hours, and be on-call
24/7, including holidays
and weekend” and “Carry a
firearm and be willing to use
deadly force, if necessary.”
(jobs.irs.gov/resource/job
8/10/22) These new IRS
agents must “maintain a
level of fitness necessary
to effectively respond to
life-threatening situations
on the job.” (op. cit. IRS,
8/10/22.) In addition, these
agents must “be willing
and able to participate in
arrests, execution of search
warrants and other danger-
ous assignments.” (SanAn-
gelolive.com, Joe Hyde,
8/11/22) This Act, which
passed with no Republican
support, provides an ad-
ditional $80,000,000,000
for the IRS. This Act has
been mislabeled the ‘In-
flation Reduction Act.’ It
should have been labeled
the ‘Fuhrer’s S.S. Act.’ It
appears the Biden/Obama/
Pelosi government has
armed and weaponized the
IRS for “armed robbery
on the taxpayers.” (Rep.
Lauren Boebert R. Colo-
rado 8/10/22) While the
Biden/Obama administra-
tion has gutted our military
and developed the greatest
“woke” tolerant/inclusive
(fighting?) force in the
world; four armed, “deadly
force,” divisions of IRS
agents will be unleashed
on the American people.
This IRS army will follow
in the footsteps of the FBI,
raiding political enemies
that oppose the socialist/
progressive agenda of the
current administration. If
this current government can
weaponize the DOJ and FBI
to break into the 45 th Presi-
dent of the United States; no
home, no citizen, no family,
no church, no organization
is protected any longer by
our laws, our courts, our
congress, our constitution.
Thus far the Christian
Church has been largely
silent in the face of this
tyranny, largely because the
vast majority of Christian
ministers teach Christians
are Bible bound to submit
to “every ordinance of man
for the Lord’s sake…or
unto governors.” (1 Peter
2:13,14) Fortunately Martin
Luther did not submit to the
ordinances of the Catholic
Church or we would have
no Protestant Churches.
In like manner had the
clergy and Patriots not led
the charge against the or-
dinances of King George
there would be no U.S.A.
today. Even Jesus stood
against the ordinances of
the scribes and Pharisees
and by His obedience to
death gifted mankind with
salvation. The Jews, under
Hitler, submitted to the
tyrannical ordinances of
the Nazi’s directly into the
gas chambers. We have
over 60 million aborted
babies because too many
Christians and individuals
with moral integrity have
submitted without standing
for the sanctity of life. Now
we have sexual perversion
taught, modeled and en-
couraged in our schools
and society, in large part
because much of the Chris-
tian church has submitted to
“every ordinance of man for
the Lord’s sake,” ordinanc-
es that lead to wickedness
and murder.
America is a nation
divided against itself. No
nation thus divided has ever
survived. It is not only apa-
thy, ignorance, or confusion
that is destroying our way
of life, nevertheless that is
largely the methodology
that got America to this
point of self-destruction.
Unless one is a cave dwell-
er, it is impossible to deny
America has been “fun-
damentally transformed.”
(Barack Obama 2008 Pres-
idential Campaign)
In Rev. 21:7 American
Patriots and Christian’s
have the exhortation that
provides hope and direc-
tion. “He that overcometh
shall inherit all things; and I
will be his God, and he shall
be my son.” God’s word
gives hope and encour-
agement to never give up,
never lose faith, never yield
to fear and intimidation.
Every Church in Revelation
was exhorted to overcome
every impediment, every
challenge, every enemy,
every obstacle. “And he that
overcometh, and keepeth
my works until the end, I
will give power over the
nations.” (Rev. 2:26)
I exhort every Amer-
ican patriot, every born-
again Christian, every in-
dividual that cherishes their
blood bought liberty and
freedom to take a stand
against the ominous tyran-
ny encompassing America
and the world today. There
are a multitude of ways
to stand against this evil:
Prayer, financial support
of true Patriots, attending
school board meetings,
involvement with Republi-
can, Democratic, Indepen-
dent party, making stands
for God in your church,
writing letters to news-
papers and congressmen,
home school, etc, etc.
Certainly, there will
be a price one must pay to
stand against the tyranny
and evil overtaking Amer-
ica today. Our forefathers
paid this price, our service-
men have paid this price,
our Lord Jesus Christ paid
this price. America was not
purchased with cowardice;
indeed, our very soul was
purchased by the fearless
sacrifice of the Lord Jesus
Christ.
Fearfulness amidst
the American people and
the Christian church has
brought us to the very edge
of the precipice of slavery
and tyranny. Our forefa-
thers would be ashamed of
our generation. Those cou-
rageous men and women
would rather die than live
as servants to tyrants. God’s
word condemns those that
will not stand for truth,
liberty, righteousness and
justice. “But the fearful,
and unbelieving, and the
abominable, and murderers,
and whoremongers and
sorcerers and isolates and
all lairs, “(Rev. 21:8) shall
have end in the lake of fire.
