HHS seniors take top honors

Three seniors from the
Heppner High School class
of 2022 received top honors
at the graduation ceremony
held June 4. Hannah Finch
and Cody Fletcher were
named valedictorians and
Serena Humphreys earned
salutatorian honors.
Hannah Olivia Finch
is the daughter of Tripp
and Julia Finch. Hannah
graduated with a 4.0 high
school grade point average
and plans to attend Van-
guard University in Costa
Mesa, California to study
communications with an
emphasis on writing and
film, as well as run track.
At Heppner High, Hannah
participated in CSO, TSA,
cross country, basketball,
track and field, drama and
band. She wrote articles for
the Heppner Gazette-Times
and co-wrote the Heppner
High spring drama pro-
duction. Hannah was track
state champion in the 800
meter this year, setting a
new school record.
Cody is the son of An-
drea and Andy Fletcher.
With a 4.0 cumulative high
school grade point average
he earned a Summit Schol-
arship for top scholars to
the University of Oregon.
While attending Heppner
High School Cody was
selected to the National
Honor Society, participated
in Future Business Leaders
of America, Technology

4-H, played football, bas-
ketball and golf, and served
as student body president.
Cody expressed, “I am
very thankful to grow up
in a community that is ex-
ceptionally supportive and
provides so many opportu-
nities and employment for
the kids.”
Serena Humphreys is
the daughter of Rebecca
and Chris. She participates
in drama and choir. She en-
joys singing and you have
likely heard her gloriously
melodic rendition of the
National Anthem at school
events. Serena will attend
the College of Idaho to
study Psychology.
