Mustang wrestlers compete at Boardman tournament

The Heppner Mustangs
wrestling team competed
in Boardman on December
30 in a dual tournament
against Riverside, Irrigon,
Echo/Stanfield, Vale and
Hermiston JV. Despite win-
ning 13 of the 19 matches
wrestled against Riverside,
Irrigon and Hermiston JV,
the Mustangs lost each of
those duals due to forfeits
(missing wrestlers to fill
regulation weight class-
es). Conversely, forfeits
combined with match wins
worked in Heppner’s favor
against Echo/Stanfield and
Vale.
Conor Brosnan and
Cade Cunningham were
undefeated in all of their
matches, with Brosnan win-
ning four by pin and one by
forfeit while Cunningham
won three by pin and two
by forfeit.
Ty Boor and Edward
Ellsworth only lost one
match each, finishing 4-1
