Spiritually Speaking
Do not be a scandal to
anyone
As we move towards the 26 th Sunday of the year, the
first reading of the day reminds us about
the famous words of Moses: “Are you
jealous for my sake?” He is frustrated
because his followers are clearly thinking
about themselves and their positions. The
previous Sunday we reflected on Jesus
telling His disciples that to be greatest
would mean to be the servant of all, Fr. Thankachan
through reaching out to others in service. Joseph
The Gospel of the day from Mark echoes
this advice: “There is no one who performs a mighty deed
in my name who can at the same time speak ill of me.”
The Book of Numbers (11:25-19) shows the follow-
ers of Moses, in reality the admirers of God, becoming
annoyed because others who were not chosen as Prophets
begin to prophesy. Moses immediately realizes that it
comes from God, but his followers are not so quick to
catch on. We are to realize that the spirit of God is not the
monopoly of a single person. The Lord bestows the spirit
of God on seventy elders, and they begin to prophesy, es-
pecially the two who were in the camps Eldad and Medad,
whose sincerity of prophecy was suspected by Joshua.
The Letter of James, last chapter (5:1-6), teaches us
that we are invited to follow God in all things and not
strive to amass wealth or fame or other things in this life.
Nothing will count in the end except faithfulness to the
Lord God. We always want to look good in comparison
with others. St James in his letter warns us all about the
social justice and uprightness that we all need to keep
in our life. St. James warns us, “Behold the wages you
withheld from the workers who harvested your fields are
crying aloud; and the cries of the harvesters have reached
the ears of the Lord of hosts,” which are very strong words
of warning for everyone.
The Gospel of Mark today (9:38-43,45,47-48) gives
us two clear teachings. The first one is the same as men-
tioned in the Book of Numbers: Never try to stop the good
works of God that happen around you because they don’t
fit the way you think they should happen. The second
teaching is clear: Whatever we do to help others is from
God, and if someone causes evil or harm to others, that
person will be punished severely on judgment day.
Jesus teaches us that anyone who causes one of His
“little ones” to sin or fall into temptations will reap his/her
punishment. He continues: “It would be better for them
if a great millstone was put around their neck and s/he
was thrown into the sea.” Jesus continues in this manner
for several verses. Clearly, Jesus wants His disciples and
every one of us to realize what a serious offense it is if
we cause one of His little ones to sin. Jesus also gives
several graphic examples of the punishment that might
be meted out, in the Book to the wrongdoers.
Today may be a good day for us to ask ourselves: Do
we cause any of the “little ones” to stray from Jesus? We
may not be intentionally inviting another person to stray.
However, we may subtly or unknowingly invite another
to do so. We may be talking with someone, and we begin
to gossip. Or perhaps we are complaining about work, our
co-workers or the behavior of our children, or perhaps
we simply are in a bad mood. The reality is that our atti-
tude and our words affect other people either positively
or negatively. On this 26 th Sunday let each of us strive
to be a positive and loving presence to each person we
encounter. Let us pray that all might be prophets, that all
might struggle against sin and against harming anyone.
Let us give thanks for all who do good and pray that we
also may do good.

Money at root of anti-ivermectin
To the editor:
The national news
media, CDC, FDA, NIH,
Dr. Fauci, and the rest the
deep state gang continue
to attack ivermectin. On
Sept. 7, 21 an NBC affil-
iate reported “ivermectin
overdoses were backing
up rural Oklahoma hospi-
tals and ambulances and
the backlog was so severe
even gunshot victims were
having a hard time getting
to facilities.” In lock step
Rolling Stone, The Guard-
ian, Newsweek, Rachel
Maddow, the national deep
state media went viral with
the story. The story was a
fabricated lie by a doctor
that didn’t even work at the
hospital. Nevertheless, not
one media outlet issued a
retraction.
Why are the global
deep state and their surro-
gates in the media and CDC
so antagonistic against Iver-
mectin? Money. Pfizer vac-
cine will make 33.5 billion
in sales this year alone. Iv-
ermectin has been provided
to the world virtually free
through an unprecedented
drug donation national pro-
gram positively impacting
1.5 billion citizens. “Few,
if any, other drugs can rival
ivermectin for its beneficial
effect on human health
and welfare.” (Journal of
Antibiotics, 2017, www.
Nature.com/ja). Power. The
government, CDC, NIH,
Dr. Fauci have a huge in-
centive to deny or delay any
practical therapeutic that
threatens resistance to their
vaccination program or
would undermine accelerat-
ed citizen acceptance of the
Covid-19 vaccines. These
powerful political forces
want to keep our country
in virtual lockdown to pre-
serve emergency powers
at the federal, state and
local levels. Ivermectin pro-
vides a good inexpensive
therapeutic threat to their
pandemic lockdown power.
Ivermectin is a threat
that the deep state must
destroy at any cost. Here is
the truth Dr. Fauci and his
minions will never share.
Ivermectin received the
Gairdner Global Health
Award in 2014 and the
Nobel Prize in Physiology/
Medicine in 2015. “Iver-
mectin is an FDA-approved
broad-spectrum antipar-
asitic agent with demon-
strated antiviral activity
against a number of DNA
and RNA viruses including
severe acute respiratory
syndrome coronavirus 2
(SAR-COV-2).” (ncbi.nim.
nih.gov). Ivermectin has
a well-documented record
of treatment for a multi-
tude of diseases throughout
the world including but
not limited to parasites,
schistosomiasis, bed bugs,
rosacea (anti- inflamma-
tory), asthma, epilepsy,
neurological diseases, an-
tiviral (HIV, dengue, en-
cephalitis), anti-cancer,
anti-tumor activity. This is
why big pharma, deep state,
Biden/Obama, Dr. Fauci,
CDC, national media fear
medicines like ivermectin.

pandemic tyranny. Your
body, your life, your choice.
Our forefathers were will-
ing to lay down their lives
against tyranny. We are
facing enemies, foreign and
domestic, that would slit
your throat in wickedness
unthinkable even to our
forefathers. Resist, prepare
and trust and obey the only
King of this world, the Lord
Jesus Christ.

courageous
To the editor,
I would like to com-
ment on your article Teach-
er asks board to ‘stand up
for me’ (from Sept. 15,
2021, GT). I believe that
Ms. Collins is quite cou-
rageous in challenging the
powers that be in Salem for
what I believe is over-reach
in some of the mandates
that have come down.
Her union, the school
board and we, the citizens
of Morrow County, should
be pushing back when mal-
adroit decrees are issued
from the governor’s office.
This is not about the type of
mask required. This is about
the current powers that be,
from D.C. on down to the
state level, agitating the
citizenry with a self-serving
divide and conquer strat-
egy that cannot help but
create hate and discontent
between us, our neighbors,
friends and co-workers.

OHV Park to host
youth elk hunt
The Morrow and Grant
County OHV Park will
again host the youth elk
hunt this year. The hunt
will be during the gener-
al second season, spike
only elk, November 2 – 14,
2021. Applicants must be
between the ages of 12 and
17 at the time of the youth
special hunt, have a current
hunting license and tag and
have completed a hunter ed-
ucation course. They must
also be a current resident of
Morrow or Grant County.
