Why Now?
1. $4M Grant from Oregon Department of Education
2. Interest rates are at a historic low, so our money will go
further.
3. We can do more because our tax base has grown by
$158M since 2006 and is going to add about $215M more
in the next 6 years, as new industrial tax base is added.
4. Up front, industrial property owners will pay
approximately 62.2%, farmers will pay 29.2% and
homeowners will pay 7.8%.
5. Over the next six years, the industrial share will grow to
about 79.5%, while farms drop to 15.8% and
homeowners to 4.2%.
6. The tax rate will drop to an estimated $1.62/$1,000 as the
tax base grows.
7. We need space for programs.
8. We need space for online learning.
9. We need space for community use.
