Boardman experiences
unusual weather
Heavy damage at the Wilson trailer park
On Saturday, May 30
Boardman experienced an
unusual weather event with
unusually high winds and
heavy rain sweeping over
the community. As a result
of the high winds, large
trees and branches were
brought down throughout
Boardman.
One of the communi-
ties that sustained the heavi-
est damage was the Wilson
Trailer Park. The park is
located at 600 SW Wilson
Lane (in Boardman) and
has 78 residential structures
within its confines. During
the weather event 10 resi-
dential structures sustained
damage and were deemed
totally destroyed. Another
two residential structures
sustained significant dam-
age. Power and water were
lost to the majority of the
residents. Multiple vehi-
cles were also damaged or
destroyed.

The City of Irrigon is
providing properties in the
Irrigon area an opportunity
for assistance in cleaning
and beautifying their prop-
erties following the May
30 storm.
There will be a two (2)
phased approach for clear-
ing removed trees and de-
bris. In Phase 1, properties
that have downed trees and
debris will need to delimb
all branches that are three
inches or larger in diameter;
place the logs in the public
ROW and the city will take
care of removing the logs.
The city will move the logs
to a staging area down by
the recycling center where
the public can come and

Cross, these residents were
provided shelter and meals
also. On Monday, June 1 the
Boardman Command Post
identified additional seven
residents needing shelter.
Some of the residents being
sheltered will require long
term needs as the homes are
unlivable.
At the time of this re-
lease, power and water
had not been restored. The
American Red Cross con-
tinues to provide breakfast,
lunch and dinner for the
affected residents. For the

Boardman Police and Fire
agencies formed a joint
unified command post to
handle the needs of the
trailer park.
Community volunteers
rallied together to assist this
small community in remov-
ing, what they could, of the
down trees and branches.
Others quickly started pre-
paring meals.
On Saturday evening,
in conjunction with the
American Red Cross, 21
people were given shelter
and meals. On Sunday, May
31, the Boardman Com-
mand Post identified an
additional 138 residents in
need of shelter and meals.
