Creth Harris was a “peo-
ple” person who loved
everyone she ever met.
It is interesting that her
death would occur during
the coronavirus outbreak,
since her birth was right at
the beginning of the out-
break of the 1918 Spanish
Flu epidemic. Creth would
have referred to coronavi-
rus as the “epizoodic” (It’’s
a real word. Look it up.)
As a result, she wouldn’t
be able to give the hugs
that she was so fond of.
Because of the virus, the
Harris family would like
to give out some “virtual”
hugs.
First, to April Herzog, for
loyally helping Mom and
us as a caregiver for the
past four years.
To her Rhea Creek neigh-
bors, who she could al-
ways depend upon.
Double virtual hugs to
Joan and Scott McDan-
iel, who she couldn’t have
lived without.
To Shari (the mail lady)
Ober, best friends with 50
years separation.
And, finally, virtual hugs
to Pat and Trish Sweeney,

of the parade in support of
them: Margaret and Juan-
ita, the 90 year old twins,
who were coming and the
Proctors and their family
for arranging to get them
there, the Evans family,
the O’Rourke family, the
Wood family, our drivers,
Vern, Matthew and Mike,
and Francine for making
all of the vehicle signs.
To the people going to put
on the family dinner after
the parade; Francine, Kate

rdanier, and Karen Wood.

for our out of town guests
and continuing to help us
with a room for the dinner
as things kept changing
during the week before.
Most of the above are
things that didn’t happen.
Sometimes it’s not about
what didn’t occur, but
what did happen and what
people were going to do
for Norma and Raymond.
They still received the gifts
of support, care and love
from their family mem-
bers. Those gifts will stay
in their hearts.
Last, but certainly not least,
to George Nairns and all of
the staff at Willow Creek
Terrace, where my parents
live. They decided to put
on a parade of their own
for my parents. They were
dressed in their parade out-
fits along with Lucy and
Brucie (Dad’s plastic WCT
resident geese statues that
moved in when he did and
he changes outfits on them
for all occasions) treats and
music. Raymond and Nor-
ma had a great time and
are still talking about it.
