Mustang girls win one, lose one
in East-West tournament
The Mustang girls’ bas-
ketball team competed in
the 2A East-West Preview
Tournament at the Pend-
leton Convention Center
December 20 and 21.
On Friday, December
20, they played Illinois
Valley at 3 p.m., winning
the game with a score of
53-37. Saturday, December
21 at 8 p.m., they lost to
Gervais 18-61.

Hopeful Saints to
host First Friday
Friends of Jesus
The January session of
First Friday Friends of Je-
sus will be held this Friday,
January 3, from 8:30 a.m. to
noon at the All Saints Parish
Hall in Heppner. Kids age
four to 12 are invited to a
morning filled with Bible
stories, crafts, games and a
free lunch.
Newcomers are always
welcome. More informa-
tion is available by calling
the Hopeful Saints Ministry
office at 541-676-9970.

Tickets available for
awards event
Tickets will be avail-
able beginning January 6
for Heppner Chamber’s
Town and Country Commu-
nity Awards event at Bank
of Eastern Oregon, Heppner
Chamber, city of Heppner
and Murray’s. The event
will be held February 6 at
6 p.m. at the Gilliam and
Bisbee building in Heppner.
Tickets will sell for $30
each until February 3. After
that date, tickets will sell for
$35 each.

Advisory Council
schedules meeting
The Local Community Advisory Council (LCAC)
will meet on Thursday, January 2 at 9 a.m. The meeting
will be held at the Heppner City Hall at 111 N Main St.
instead of the usual location.
