Youth Advisory Council fundraiser a success
Students to go to Summit in Salem
The school-based Ione
Community Clinic Youth
Advisory Council raised
over $500 at their Fiesta
Fundraiser this weekend.
This community support
will fund their annual Youth
Action Summit in Salem,
OR and begin their planned
Comfort Closet project.
Throughout the 2019-
2020 school year, the Com-
fort Closet will provide
hygiene and other personal
care items for students and
community members in
need. Additionally, they
launched a junior council
this year, and plan to invite
a special speaker to present
at an assembly.
“We would like to
thank our community for
their support of our pro-
gram. We are very excited
for all the projects we have
planned this year and our
summit,” said Zoey Gilbert,
president. Established in
2018, The Y.A.C is a group
of youth ambassadors who
meet to discuss health top-
ics that support the student
community, while also ad-
vocating for meaningful
health and wellness pro-
grams.
