Flight A low gross was Eva Kilkenny and long drive went to Virginia Grant Flight B low gross went to Cindy Burright and low net to Shirley Martin. Sarah Rucker got the least putts and Cindy Burright man- aged the longest drive. Bunnie Lindsey took low gross on flight C and low net was a tie between Kris Lindner and Kathy Martin. Least putts went to Bev Steagall and Bunnie Lindsay got the long drive. Betty Burns got a birdie on hole 13. Virginia Grant, Cindy Burright and Nancy Arnson each had a long putt. The Women’s Invita- tional is June 18. Senior golfers play at Boardman Senior golfers from Willow Creek Country Club played at the Colum- bia-Blue Senior Golf Asso- ciation tournament on June 10 at the par 62 Willow Run golf course in Boardman. Winners from Willow Creek in the Columbia Division (handicap 14 and below) gross category were Dennis Peck and Kelly Fox in a fourth-place tie with a score of 73. In net Dave Pranger took third with 60; Tom Shear, sixth with 62 and Jim Swanson seventh with 73. Blue Division (handi- cap 15 to 18) winners were Delbert Binchus in sixth place gross with a score of 78 and Dave Creswick in sixth place net with 61. In the Senior Division (handicap 19 and above) Bob Nairns took first in gross with a score of 77; Steve Marlatt was second with 78 and John Edmund- son fifth with 88. Jeff Cuts- forth took fourth place in net with a 63. The next Colum- bia-Blue Senior Golf As- sociation tournament will be held at Goldendale, WA on July 8 with tee times at 7:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Lunch will be served by the Gold- endale Ladies Club. Men’s golf group hosts 25 players Twenty-five golfers played in the Sunday Men’s Play at Willow Creek Coun- try Club on Sunday, June 16. Charlie Ferguson got KP on number eight and Dallas Harsin did the same on hole number 16. First place net was a tie between Delbert Binchus and John Edmundson with 57. Dave Creswick got third with 58. Dave Pranger took first in gross with 63. Ron Bowman and Charlie Ferguson tied for second with 67. There will be no regular men’s play due to the men’s invitational tournament being held June 21-23. The next regular play will be June 30, hosted by Kelly Fox, Tim Wright and Mike Doherty. Learn about available federal, state and local veteran ben- efits including health care, disability compensation pension, business, burial, transportation, education, recreation, long-term care, records, ID’s, home loans Boardman adopts 2019-2020 budgets During their June 4 meetings, the Boardman City Council adopted the 2019-2020 City budget of $21,218,787.00 and the Urban Renewal Agency adopted their 2019-2020 budget of $3,063,000.00. City property taxes will be levied at a rate of $4.2114 per $1,000 of assessed val- uation and $410,000 will be levied for bonded indebted- ness not subject to Measure 5 or Measure 50 limitations. City Budget Officer Thomas Kligel said the city will close the 2018- 2019 fiscal year on a highly positive note with the com- pletion of four major capital projects, including a new water main, street upgrades on Faler and Olson Road and the creation of water service to the Laurel Lane area. The focus for 2019- 2020 will be to support continued housing develop- ment started in the previous years, additionally, activity in city road maintenance and to be proactive in the continued development of the Urban Renewal Dis- trict’s projected long-term capital projects. In other city business, the council approved allow- ing the Pirate Football Pro- gram the use of the soccer fields along NE Front Street for Saturday games. The league intends to improve the field for a multi-sport usage, to include bleachers, and multi-purpose goals. They will return to the council with detailed plans at the next city council meeting. The council approved upgrading the police de- partment’s radio system with encryption technology. The council also approved closing city hall on Friday, July 5, 2019. Azetatos to perform at concert The Latino rock band Azetatos will perform for the Music in the Parks out- door summer concert series Monday, June 24 at the Boardman Marina Park at 7 p.m., located off of N. Main Street on Marine Drive. Azetatos is a pop rock band formed in 2018 from Tri Cities, WA. The members are experienced musicians, united by friendship. They also have invited guest mu- sicians to join them playing covers of bands that left their mark. Azetatos has played venues all around the Mid-Columbia region. The Music in the Parks concert series is held each summer alternating be- tween Boardman and Ir- rigon Marina Parks. The concerts are free to the pub- lic and begin at 7 p.m. on Mondays through August 12. Visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic and lawn chairs or blankets. The Music in the Parks series is funded by the Morrow County Unified Recreation District and Portland Gen- eral Electric and sponsored by the North Morrow Com- munity Foundation.
