Heppner Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon Wednesday, May 15, 2019 -- SEVEN
THANK YOU
It is with a great sense of
humbleness and thankful-
ness that I am able to write
this letter. On the evening
of April 22nd I had a horrif-
ic accident while working
on a piece of farm equip-
ment. I was able to even-
tually get to my cell phone
and call 911 and the “mag-
ic” started to happen. It’s
a very coordinated system
and everything was work-
ing for me. The Ione EMS
and Fire and Rescue, Hep-
pner Ambulance and Fire
and Rescue arrived and
quickly got me stabilized
and into the ambulance.
Life Flight landed and off
to the hospital I went. After
I departed, there were first
responders that stayed and
secured my vehicles and
equipment. They took care
of everything. My family
and I didn’t have to worry.
There were so many ways
this could have gone bad
for me. Thanks to all of the
first responders we have
in the Ione and Heppner
area, I am able to write this
Thank You letter. This is an
area where all the support
we can give the Morrow
County Health District is
money well spent. I am
living proof of that.
A heartfelt thank you for
the flowers, cards, con-
cerns and prayers.
Sincerely, Doug Drake and
Family
