Last man standing
ranch bronc riding
explained
The Oregon Trail Pro
Rodeo will host the last
man standing ranch bronc
riding event beginning at
the rodeo performance held
on Friday, Aug. 17. This
event is a Western States
Ranch Rodeo Association
(WSRRA) event that is part
of the 8 Seconds Whisky
Tour stop event. The show
in Heppner will be the only
last man standing event to
take place within the 14
states and parts of Canada
that are covered by WS-
RRA.
During the event, 18 of
the top riders will be facing
off against some of the best
rough stock the area has to
offer. On Saturday night,
the top 12 riders from Fri-
day night will return to ride
again. The Friday and Sat-
urday scores will be added
together and the top six will
return to buck out again.
Adding the second Satur-
day score will then leave
the top three to return to try
their luck on another horse.
After those three have rid-
den, the one with the lowest
score will be dropped from
the competition.
With just two cowboys
left, a ride-off will take
place, with them alternating
riding broncs until one has a
qualifying ride, thus leaving
the last man standing.
The cowboy who
achieves the last qualified
ride will be the first Oregon
Trail Pro Rodeo Last Man
Standing.
