Music in the park
begins in Heppner
Porter and the Pale Ales to perform June 10.
Heppner’s Music in the
Park series begins Sunday,
June 10 from 5 to 7 p.m.
at the Heppner City Park
on Main Street. Music will
be provided by Porter and
the Pale Ales, a group of
talented musicians who
offer a sound reminiscent
of the 30s through the 60s
with gentle, thoughtful, yet
zesty tunes (think George
Gershwin meets the early
Beatles). In the event of
rain, the concert will be
moved to the grade school
gym.
Funding for this event
is provided by the Morrow
County Unified Recreation
District and facilitated by
Hopeful Saints Ministry as
a service to the community.
Pulled pork sandwiches
and more will be available
by donation to raise funds
for Hopeful Saints Minis-
try’s well-building projects
through Living Water Inter-
national.
Water district to
assess creek
The directors of the
Heppner Water Control Dis-
trict will be walking along
Willow Creek through Hep-
pner on Thursday, June 7
beginning at 11 a.m. The
purpose is to assess the
condition and safety of the
riparian area. Downed trees
may create a dam and cause
property damage.
The board would like
to remind property own-
ers along the creek that
Oregon state law prohibits
the deposit of trash, rub-
bish, debris or litter on land
within 100 yards of any of
the waters of the state ac-
cording to ORS 468B.005.
