Extension celebrates 100 years in Morrow
County
Morrow County Exten-
sion is hosting a celebration
and gallery opening at the
SAGE Center celebrating
100 years of extension in
Morrow County on May
5. Guest speakers include
Oregon state representative
Greg Smith and Morrow
County commissioner Don
Russell.
The display will high-
light current work by exten-
sion in the area, as well as
some highlights from the
past. Current programs and
research currently offered
by Morrow County Exten-
sion include: 4-H Youth
Development, Juntos and
Latino Outreach, Supple-
mental Nutrition Assistance
Education Program (SNAP-
Ed), Livestock and Range-
land Management, Cereal
Crops Agriculture as well as
being served by the Herm-
iston Agricultural Research
and Extension center that
serves irrigated agriculture
and Columbia Basin Ag-
ricultural Research center
outside of Pendleton that
serves dryland producers in
the county.
“You will be amazed
by the breadth and depth
of the educational and re-
search efforts of extension
in Morrow County,” says
Mary Corp, OSU Extension
regional director. “Exten-
sion has a local history of
adapting to the needs of
local communities with
a focus on healthy farms,
families and food over the
past 100 years. Please come
and help us celebrate this
rich heritage.”
All are invited to attend
the celebration and gallery
opening. There will be no
admission charge during
the event time of 11 a.m. to
1 p.m. on May 5. Presenta-
tions and remarks will be at
11:30 a.m. with appetizers
and refreshments being
served.

Sealed bids will be received no later than 4:00 p.m., May 3, 2018. Morrow County Public Works
Office in Lexington. Bids will be publically opened at 9:00 a.m. on May 7, 2018 at the Morrow
County Public Works office in Lexington, OR.
Successful bidder will be required to take possession and remove vehicle within 30 days of being
notified their bid has been accepted Morrow County makes no warranties as to vehicles
condition.
Payment in full must be completed with certified check, cashier’s check, or cash. Payment in full
is required before buyer will receive vehicle title from Morrow County. Buyer is required to
register the vehicle in the buyer's name, and present that registration to Morrow County prior to
the vehicle being released to the buyer. Failure to perform these steps within 30 days of being
notified that bid has been accepted will nullify the winning bid, and Morrow County may offer
vehicle to next highest bidder or choose to relist the vehicle at auction.

man that a white Dodge is
swerving back and forth

Heppner that she found a
sickly and malnutritioned
cat under her house.

St N, Boardman. Under
investigation.

a female is trying to use the
phone to get someplace to
stay. MCSO responded and
gave the female a ride to
Desert Rose in Hermiston.

rigon that a black Ford
pickup spun its tires on
Seventh and toward Tenth.

port at Elks Club on N Main
ST, Heppner that it sounds
like someone is screaming
up near the hospital. Unable
to locate.

port on SE Utah Ave, Irri-
gon that there are subjects
riding in the turkey shoots
without permission.
-MCSO received a re-
port at Heppner Shell Sta-
tion on N Main St, Hep-
pner of a theft. Ty Jacob
Haertling was arrested on
charge of theft III.

Lane, Heppner that firearms
are missing from his grand-
mother’s residence.

Ln, Irrigon that there are
cows in her driveway.

Stanfield PD on MCSO
warrant. Lodged at UCJ.

man that there is a couple
yelling at each other. Un-

is shooting. Happened last
night, then 7-8 shots again
tonight. Lisa Renea Garcia
Mendez was arrested by
MCSO on Umatilla county
warrants. Lodged at UCJ.
March 11: Morrow
County Sheriff ’s Office
received a report at Pole
Line Rd/Homestead Ln,
Boardman that subject ad-
vised he fell asleep and his
vehicle went into the canal.
RP declined medical atten-
tion, but advised he would
need a tow.
-MCSO received a re-
port at Blake’s Ranch/Wil-
low Creek that a grader
was vandalized. 2-3 bullet
holes in the windows of the
grader.
-MCSO received a re-
port on SE Thirteenth ST,
Irrigon that three people ran
into the old junky house that
is behind RP’s residence.
Donald Lienol Baldwin Jr.
was arrested by MCSO for
criminal trespass I.
-MCSO received a re-
port on SE Utah Ave, Ir-
rigon that a flat bed truck
came around off of Eighth
and spun tires and went
toward Division, possibly
chasing someone else.
-MCSO received a re-
port on W Hwy 730, Irrigon
that a pickup is swerving in
and out of his lane. Unable
to locate.
-MCSO received a re-
port at E Main St/S C St,
Lexington that there are
boards in the road.
March 12: Morrow
County Sheriff’s Office re-
ceived a report on SE Park
Pl, Irrigon of men getting
out of a car towards trailer.
Deputy spoke to subject
and was advised subject
has a key.
-MCSO received a re-
port on E Hwy 730, Irrigon
that daughter was sleeping
and heard someone in the
back yard. Deputy checked
area, unable to locate.
-MCSO received a
report on Columbia Ave
NW, Boardman of 66 year
old male non responding.
Transported to GSH.
-MCSO received a re-
port on SE Utah Ave/SE
Tenth St, Irrigon that a male
in a silver Dodge pickup
backed out in front of the
RP and started driving slow.
Male then pulled over and
shook his fist at the RP.
-MCSO received a ju-
venile complaint at Irrigon
High School on SE Wyo-
ming Ave, Irrigon.
-MCSO received a re-
port of a threat made at Ione
School on Spring St, Ione.
-MCSO received a re-
port of possible child abuse
at Ione School on Spring St,
Ione. Under investigation.

port of theft at Heppner
Grade School on NE Stans-
bury St, Heppner.

port of a fight at Irrigon
High School on SE Wyo-
