ICC welcomes new
pastor
Ione Community
Church will welcome their
new interim pastor, Rev.
Michael Crouch and his
wife, Jan, to the church
on Sunday, Apr. 15. The
text for the morning will
be Luke 24: 36-48 and the
sermon title for the day is
“He Came Back – Hungry.”
Crouch, a Disciples of
Christ minister, retired from
the Lynchwood Christian
Church in Portland in 2013
and has since served as an
interim pastor in Junction
City and Keizer, OR.
Rev. Crouch says, “I
believe that the recognition
that we all have a ministry
is a basic element of our
identity as followers of
Christ. Discovering the
gifts with which we each
have been blessed and de-
veloping those gifts in min-
at convention. After this
process, Matt was chosen
as the state winner in his
area. He has the opportunity
to compete at the national
convention in the fall.
Different chapter offi-
cers competed at the district
level and all were able to
move on to the state level
to compete. Historian, Suzy
Cason created a digital
scrapbook that won second
place at districts and earned
a bronze at convention.
Tyler Carter, the reporter,
organized and created the
chapter scrapbook and won
second at districts as well
as a silver at state. Trea-
surer, Jaiden Mahoney was
responsible for organizing

ing second place at districts

Chapter members
Alex Lindsay, Beau Wolt-
ers, Ethan Akers, Tresslyn
McCurry, Tiffany Akers,
Jaiden Mahoney, Keegan
Gibbs, Jacee Currin and
Gibson McCurry worked
together to create the chap-

plication. It is a thorough
process that allows mem-
bers to select events that
the chapter planned and
participated in that show
the various areas of the
program of activities that
make the chapter stronger.
The Heppner’s chapter was
selected as a Gold Chapter
that will compete at the
national level and is in the
top nine chapters in the state
of Oregon.
