Columbia River Pharmacy to
host grand opening
Exciting changes are
in store at Columbia River
Health, promises CEO,
Seth Whitmer, the first be-
ing a grand opening of the
facility’s new pharmacy, to
be held on Apr. 7. Columbia
River Pharmacy is located
inside the local Harvest
town Foods at 220 S. Main
St. in Boardman.
“With the opening of
our pharmacy, we will pro-
vide our patients with tens
of thousands of dollars per
month in charity and dis-
counted medications,” said
Whitmer.
Columbia River Health,
formerly known as Co-
lumbia River Community
Health Services (CRCHS),
has had a name change.
“In order to simplify things
and help our community
recognize who we are, we
have changed our name
to Columbia River Health
(CRH),” said Whitmer.
“We often found that people
confused us with the lo-
cal hospital district, when
actually we are completely
different. None of your lo-
cal tax dollars go towards
supporting our clinic.”
Additionally, the mis-
sion at Columbia River
Health is to serve everyone
in the community, including
those who have insurance
and those who do not, said
Whitmer. Staff at Columbia
River Health have also been
working to adapt service
schedules to create more
immediate access for the
community.
“We want to make sure
everyone has access to high
quality care,” said Whitmer.
“Columbia River Health
has brought on skilled pro-
fessionals to provide un-
precedented high quality
care to our community. We
did this so that we could
expand our hours, making
ourselves available to the
entire community Monday
through Saturday.” The
clinic is open Monday – Fri-
day 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and
Saturdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Beginning in spring
2019, CRH will also of-
fer optometry and dental
services.
“We recognized the
need for optometry services
in our community with a
high rate of amblyopia (lazy
eye) among the children in
our community who had
no access to optometry ser-
vices,” said Whitmer. “We
have hired an optometrist
to care for these children
while helping with plans to
open a full optometry clinic
available to the entire com-
munity. Additionally we
recognized the large need
of dental services, and we
are planning to also open a
new dental clinic.”
While the pharmacy is
currently open and acces-
sible to the public, the grand
opening is a perfect way for
community members to get
to know Columbia River
Health. The Apr. 7 grand
opening of the Columbia
River Pharmacy will in-
clude food, discounts and
prizes for community mem-
bers who come to celebrate.
Columbia River Health
provides primary care, be-
havioral health, dental ser-
vices, optometry, pediatric
care, chronic care manage-
ment and more. To sched-

Secretary of State visits county

Oregon Secretary of
State Dennis Richardson
stopped by the Morrow
County Courthouse last
week as part of a trip he is
making to visit courthouses
around the state. Richard-
son said one reason he was
making the trip is to evalu-
ate election procedures at
the county level.
“When I say Oregon
has the most secure election
system, I mean it,” Rich-
ardson said. “We are very

are making sure people can
trust their election system
which is very important.
I’m very impressed with the
dedication I am seeing from
our local county clerks.”
Richardson said he
is treating people equally
when it comes to voting. “I
am not answering to anyone
but the people. Where there
is accountability, there is
trust and I don’t care if there
is an R (Republican) or a D
(Democrat) behind their
name,” he said. Richardson
said he would like to see a
higher turnout of voters
but added. “People not only
have the option to vote, but
also the responsibility to
vote.”
While at the courthouse
Richardson visited with
county elected officials
and staff and also present-
ed County Clerk Bobbi
Childers with an Oregon
medallion inscribed with
an Irish saying on the back.
Governor’s Market-
place to be held
The 2018 Governor’s
Marketplace will take place
on Apr. 12 from 7:30 a.m. to
1 p.m. at the SAGE Center
in Boardman.
This event brings to-
gether industry profession-
als, public agencies and
private organizations, di-
versity practitioners and
small businesses to build
valuable relationships.
Small businesses will learn
about public contracting
opportunities and local re-
sources available.
According to Greg
Smith, Eastern Oregon
University, the Governor’s
office and the State of Or-
egon have made it a priority
to create equity in public
contracting and procure-
ment; bringing opportuni-
ties, access, and connection
for small business to thrive
in Oregon.

of Boardman, have been
named as new members
of the American Angus
Association, reports Allen
Moczygemba, CEO of the
national breed organiza-
tion headquartered in Saint
Joseph, MO.
The American Angus
Association, with more
than 25,000 active adult and
junior members, is the larg-
est beef breed association in
the world. Its computerized
records include detailed
information on over 18 mil-
lion registered Angus.
