require three weeks to process after last date of publication (a sooner return date must be

For Obituaries: Obituaries are published in the Heppner GT at no charge and are edited to
meet news guidelines. Families wishing to include information not included in the guidelines
or who wish to have the obituary written in a certain way must purchase advertising space
for the obituary.
For Letters to the Editor: Letters to the Editor MUST be signed by the author. The Heppner
GT will not publish unsigned letters. All letters MUST include the author’s address and phone
number for use by the GT office. The GT reserves the right to edit letters. The GT is not
responsible for accuracy of statements made in letters. Any letters expressing thanks will
be placed in the classifieds under “Card of Thanks” at a cost of $10.
Memorial Notice
Carolyn Paris – a memorial service for Carolyn
Paris will be held at the fairgrounds in Heppner at 2 p.m.
on Saturday, Mar. 1. Carolyn passed away July 26, 2017.

of the Peace Ann Spicer
has released the following
Justice Court report:
-Jose Antonio Rosales
Gomez, 29, of Hermiston
was convicted of violation
of basic rule, 75/55 mph,
$165 fine.
-Bradley R Hatha-
way, 62, of Stanfield was
convicted hunting from or
across highway, $115 fine.
-Jimmy Bowles, 68, of
Heppner was convicted of
DUII, total fine and court
costs of $2360, perma-
nent license suspension,
40 hours of community
service, two days in jail, 28
days of electronic surveil-
lance, two year probation,
required to complete drug
and alcohol assessment
and treatment and complete
victim’s impact program.
Chamber meeting
The next lunch meet-
ing of the Heppner Cham-
ber of Commerce will be
held at noon on Thursday,
Mar. 1, in the Heppner City
Hall conference room. This
meeting will be all entities
reports. Tom Wolff of Co-
lumbia Basin Electric Co-
op will provide an update.
Cost of lunch is $10
and Breaking Grounds will
be catering the lunch, serv-
ing a Rueben sandwich,
beef stew and dessert.
The meeting location is
accessible to persons with
disabilities. A request for an
interpreter for the hearing
impaired or for other ac-
commodations for persons
with disabilities should be
made at least 48 hours be-

the birth of a son,
Rhett Franklin Car-
nine. Rhett was born
Feb. 14, 2018 at in
Hermiston, weighed
8 pounds, 14 ounces
and was 23 inches
long.
Rhett joins a
brother, Karsten.

Boots to be tossed
on St. Pat’s day
The boots are set to fly
at the St. Patrick’s Day cel-
ebration on Saturday, Mar.
17 at the annual Welly Toss.
Participants will try
their luck at throwing a
Wellington boot into the
air during the event to be
held on Willow St. between
Murray’s Drug and the Ar-
tisan Village.
Team play begins at
10 a.m. and continues un-
til noon. Individual play
is from 10:30 a.m. until
12:30 p.m. and is free for
all participants. Individual
age brackets are kids two-
12, teens 13-17 and adults
18 and over.

forms may be picked up
at the Chamber office and
need to be returned by Mar.
12. The registration fee for
teams is $20 and will fund
the prizes and supplies for
the event.
All kids will receive a
gold coin for participating.
Prizes will be awarded for
the man, woman and youth
winners.
The top teams will re-
ceive prizes and the first
place team will have their
name engraved on the trav-
eling boot award currently
on display at the chamber
office.

Tuesday, Mar. 6 at the Ag
Service Center beginning
at 6 p.m. Agenda items will
include a weed supervisor
report, review of February
minutes, SWCD financial
update, 2018-19 budget
update, associate director
appointment, partner and
staff reports, review of the
district zone map and a re-
quest to ODA to reduce the
number of directors from
seven to five.
The Morrow SWCD
meetings are open to the
public and accessible to
persons with disabilities.

term. The last day to file
for a candidate position is
Mar. 6.
Candidates who have
filed for county commis-

incumbent Don Russell
and Raymond Akers, both
of Boardman. The county
assessor candidate is Mike
Gorman of Heppner.
