Late on the morning of Au-
gust 22nd my friend Leon
and I were returning to Is-
saquah Washington riding
our motorcycles taking
in the beauty of the scen-
ery along Willow Creek
Rd East of Heppner. Un-
fortunately, my friend ran
into some gravel on a hard
left turn which resulted
in a broken shoulder and
several broken or cracked
ribs and of course a badly
damaged motorcycle. The
amazing thing is by the
end of the day my friend
had been patched up as
much as possible, his mo-
torcycle retrieved and was
on his way home. We owe
all of this to the wonderful
citizens in this remarkable
town and our good friend
Matt who drove round trip
from Issaquah to pick up
Leon and his motorcycle.
