Boardman Quilt Group meets at Boardman Senior Center, 100 Tatone Street, next to Boardman City Hall. There is no fee to par- ticipate. In addition to proj- ects of individual choice, there are occasional pre- sentations by regional quilt artists. Quilt group members are currently learning sto- ries and histories of quilt block designs that were popular at the time of Or- egon Trail migrations. The Oregon Trail River Route passed along the Colum- bia River and the site of present-day Boardman. The second Oregon Trail inland route passed through Wells Springs, 17 miles south of Boardman. The proximity of both historic routes prompted Boardman quilters to learn more about life on the trail. On May 15, the group will travel to Stanfield for a lesson on “How to make a Hexagon block with no ‘Y’ seams.” For regular meetings, quilters are asked to bring Marsha Connell with her Autumn Adventure scrappy quilt. their own sewing machines -Photo by Nancy Pace counselor and Little League umpire.
