The Oregon state legislature will soon make a decision on HB
2387, a bill that increases health insurance industry profits at
the expense of patients.
Recent changes to the bill weaken patient protections and
keep Oregon’s big insurance industry as the main beneficiary.
Insurance companies would be allowed to cut coverage of
certain medicines—without notifying pati ents. And they would
be able to offer fewer affordable plans—without lowering
costs or increasing access to care.
