CARD OF THANKS
A big thank you for all of
the devoted volunteers
who work so hard every
year to help organize the
annual Wee Bit O’ Ire-
land St. Patrick’s celebra-
tion. We were fortunate
to have good weather for
most of the weekend (ex-
cept for the black clouds
and downpour at the end
of the Great Green Parade)
and a good turnout of visi-
tors and family returning to
share the weekend with us!
This weekend wouldn’t be
able to happen if we didn’t
have dedicated volunteers
to step up and get involved
in making this another
successful year. We have
volunteers that have been
involved for many years
and we count on them to
do what they have done so
well for so long and we had
some new volunteers who
filled in the gap of needed
help for this year’s events.
For fear of forgetting
someone (because there
are so many behind the
scenes) on behalf of the
St. Patrick’s committee,
we want to thank everyone
who served, volunteered,
participated in the events,
supported the event with a
financial donation or their
time! This is a community
event and couldn’t be ac-
complished without each
of the community mem-
bers who are dedicated to
make it happen every year!
So thank you … go ahead
and pat yourself on the
back for a job well done!

marshals in 2017. It has
been a wonderful experi-
ence that I got to enjoy
simply because I was for-
tunate to marry an Irish-
man. There are very many
people that work very
hard to make St. Patrick's
celebration a very special
occasion. The addition of
the Remembrance Walk
has been extra special
to the entire community.
The Shamrocks, made by
Susie Hisler, help us to
remember so many who
have gone before us. All of
those on the Remembrance
walk committee work long
hours to make it successful
.. They have donated the
profits to help the commu-
nity. This year they are do-
nating the profits to Asher's
Army. There are many vol-
unteers who give countless
hours to help make this
celebration a memorable
occasion. Our thanks to
all of you and a special
thank you to Joe Lindsay
for the song he wrote and
sang for us at the Coffee
Hour. It was so nice and so
much fun to get our family
together for a joyful occa-
sion.
Sincerely, Billy

Thank you to the follow-
ing individuals and busi-
nesses who helped with
the lighted Shamrocks:
Mike and Nancy Lank-
ford from Pilot Rock and
Packy Doherty of Doherty
Welding, also from Pilot
Rock, for the loan of their
Shamrock frames; Bill
McDowell for his support
and expert advice; the City

Electric Co-op for the use
of their bucket truck and
David Jaca who mounted
and removed the Sham-
rock from the windmill at
Heritage Park; Rod and
Janet Wilson for letting
us attach a Shamrock to
their fence on Cemetery
Hill; Larry and Betty Mills
who supplied power to
the Shamrock; and Larry
Mills and Paul Hisler who
helped attach the Sham-
rock to fence. The gener-
osity and support of all is
greatly appreciated.
