Grief support group
to meet Oct. 6
The grief support meet-
ing will take place at the
Mustang Diner in Heppner
on Oct. 6 at noon. Everyone
is welcome to attend the
no-host lunch and listen to
the speaker. The support
group includes a diverse
group of people who have
experienced grief, includ-
ing people who have lost
children, aunts, uncles, sib-
lings, spouses and parents.
This month the group
will have Patty Nance speak
about grief. Nance has been
the pastor of Heppner Unit-
ed Methodist church for
two years. Nance and her
husband Jerry have lived
in the Heppner area for six
years. She comes from a
large family and is a wife,
a rancher and “enjoys life
to the fullest.” Her back-
ground includes being a
former journalist and own-
ing several newspapers.
Nance says she has ex-
perienced all sides of grief
and has always felt called
to be an advocate in helping
everyone through grief, but
especially young widows,
as she herself was in those
same shoes.
Anyone is welcome.
If you know someone who
would like to come, please
invite them. Questions,
please call Jean Adams,
