Hardman Community Center news
The dining room proj-
ect continues to move for-
ward. Kevin from Ruggs
Ranch installed the drywall,
which was donated by Mel
McDaniel, on the south wall
during the last month. And
on the July 10, Bob Allen,
Mel and Rick McDaniel,
and Claudia Smythe con-
tinued progress, while John
Koch worked some more on
researching the community
center organization.
Bob Allen complet-
ed the maintenance that
he had been working on
throughout the month and
his granddaughter painted
trim for the south wall for
us during the week.
Mel and Bob got the
electrical issues figured
out and trim carpenter ex-
traordinaire Rick McDan-
iel finished the north wall
ceiling trim. This wall was
pretty saggy from the years,
even with being jacked up
and tied off, but reports
are that you can’t tell that
now. Claudia Smythe wiped
down the ceiling in prepa-
ration for sealing later this
month. John Koch provided
everyone with a chicken

Other projects in the
“works” are staining and
sealing the tables and paint-
ing the kitchen, both funded
in part by Snow-McElligott.
The last large project will
be sanding and sealing the
kitchen floor. Sam Martin is
in charge of this one, too, as
they have a sander and have
done this before. The photo,
brochure, and genealogy
projects are progressing
with a few glitches here
and there, but all in all “it’s
coming together,” members
report.
And they had their first
event, the McDaniel Family
Reunion last Sunday.
The group also reports
they had several people
stop by last week and take
a tour. If you would like a
tour, call the secretary at

at hcc@hughes.net and she
will make arrangements for
one of the “Bobs” to take
you through.
