Condon’s play to be performed during St. Pat’s festivities “Intrigue at Glendal- ough, ”a drama of faith, forgiveness, and intrigue,” written by Father Gerry Condon, retired pastor of St. Patrick Church in Heppner and St. William Church in Ione, will be held in Ione and Heppner during the St. Patrick’s festivities begin- ning March 13. The first performance will be at the Ione Community School on Sunday, March 13, at 3 p.m. The inal performance will be at St. Patrick Parish Hall on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, at 7.30 p.m. Entertain- ment will be included, with Irish music by Joe Lindsay, guitar, Bill Monagle, Cory Cooley, Jeb Ball, banjo, Eric Jepsen, iddle and Rick Drake. In the ten hundreds a round tower was built there for protection from the Vikings, and for the safe keeping of precious manuscripts. Today it is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Ireland. This is the location of the story where a group of tourists share events in their lives, and where there is an underlying intrigue. There is a cast 19 and a production crew of 10. The cast includes: Joe Lindsay, Larry Lutcher, Bill Monagle, Rick Drake, Bill Kuhn, Cam Sweeney, Corey Sweeney, Dan Van Schoiack, Dan Lindsay, Adam McCabe, Debbie Gutierrez, Ashley Lindsay, Rita Van Schoiack, Janet Greenup, Beth Dicken- son, Brian Kollman, Josh Coiner, Ann Morter and Nikki Coe. Donations received at both performances this year will again go to further the St. Patrick Parish Hall restoration, as that was the charity of the cast’s choice.
