Sheriff’s Report
October 25: -Morrow
County Sheriff’s Ofice re-
ceived report of trespass on
Kunze Lane in Boardman.
MCSO responded but was
unable to locate the female
subject.
-MCSO oficer report-
ed he was out with a subject
on I-84 E, Boardman. The
officer reported that he
gave the female subject a
courtesy ride to Hermiston.
-MCSO received report
from a subject at Hwy. 74-
Lena that their border collie
Jiggs had been missing.
-MCSO received re-
port from a subject on I-84
Boardman that he had hit a
deer, his air bag deployed
and his car automatically
called 911.
-MCSO received report
of dogs barking for about
two hours on Quaid St.
in Heppner. MCSO made
contact with the owner who
said she would put the dogs
in for the night.
-MCSO received report
of a burn pile getting out of
hand with lots of dry grass
around it and trees above
the lames.
-Heppner Ambulance
received report from a
Heppner woman that her
56-year-old husband was
having chest pains. Hep-
pner Ambulance responded
and transported the patient
to Pioneer Memorial Hos-
pital.
-Heppner Ambulance
received report that an
88-year-old woman had
fallen and had shoulder
pain. MCSO transported
her to Pioneer Memorial
Hospital.
-Irrigon Ambulance re-
ceived report of a 32-year-
old female with kidney/
abdominal pains. She was
transported to Good Shep-
herd Hospital in Hermiston.
-MCSO received re-
port from Umatilla County
Sheriff’s Ofice that they
were out with an Irrigon pa-
tient who had been listed as
having Alzheimer’s. They
requested that MCSO make
contact with his wife, as
they were unable to contact
her by phone.
-MCSO received report
of a birthday party going on
at Hinton St./Linden Way in
Heppner with individuals
playing “capture the lag.”
-MCSO received report
from an on-call physician
at Pioneer Memorial Hos-
pital in Heppner to report a
subject with a broken jaw
who needed to ile a police
report. MCSO responded.
-MCSO Deputy report-
ed he was making contact
with a hunter who was
displaying a suspicious-
looking decoy in Irrigon.
-MCSO received re-
quest to speak to a deputy
from a woman who found
a sick puppy and wanted to
know what her options were
with regard to keeping and
helping the dog.
-MCSO received re-
quest for a welfare check
from an Irrigon woman
concerning her daughter.
October 26: -Morrow
County Sheriff ’s Office
received request for an am-
bulance for a 60-year-old
male in Irrigon whose feet
were covered in blood and
the daughter-in-law who
called, did not know why.
MCSO, Irrigon Ambulance
and Boardman Police De-
partment responded.
-MCSO received report
of suspicious activity at
the Bank of Eastern Or-
egon in Irrigon. A caller
said a blonde female in her
early to mid-20s, wearing
blue sweats, a black t-shirt,
white socks, but no shoes
was sleeping in the ATM
vestibule.
-MCSO, Irrigon Am-
bulance received report
of a male in front of a red
Nissan yelling at the driver
of the car at Wyoming and
Second St. in Irrigon. The
caller said the male was
wearing a gray sweater
and the driver was wearing
a black beanie. MCSO ar-
rested Artie Monroe Kellar,
64, for Menacing-Domestic
Violence. He was released
on his own recognizance
with $6,000 bail.
-MCSO received report
from a female subject who
said her parents gave her a
dog that was given to them
by her brother and he was
saying that she stole the dog
and he wants it back.
-MCSO received re-
quest for assistance from
the Department of Human
Services at Green Acres on
Paterson Ferry Rd., Irrigon.
-MCSO received report
of from a Heppner woman
that someone damaged the
outside of her car. MCSO
responded and took a report
for Theft III.
-MCSO received report
from an Irrigon man that his
girlfriend caused a distur-
bance and left heading east
in a red Hyundai, with her
sister driving the vehicle.
MCSO responded, but no
crime was committed at the
time. The parties advised
they were going to separate.
-MCSO received report
that a black and white bor-
der collie was stuck in a tree
about 20 feet off the ground
across the highway from
A.C. Houghton Elementary
School in Irrigon.
-MCSO received report
from a subject at Tower Rd./
Taggares Lane, Boardman
that a white Honda passed
him in a no-passing zone
and almost hit another ve-
hicle head on.
-MCSO received report
of a house on ire on Third
St. in Irrigon. Irrigon Fire
Department, Boardman
Fire Department, Irrigon
Ambulance and MCSO
responded.
-MCSO received report
of suspicious activity on
Utah Ave. in Irrigon with
disturbing noises and a fe-
male screaming at the top of
her lungs for the last couple
hours. MCSO responded
and determined the noise
to be from a large cockatoo
named “Beretta”.
-Irrigon Ambulance,
Irrigon Fire Department,
Boardman Ambulance re-
ceived report from a woman
in Irrigon who said her
35-year-old husband had
fallen and could not get up.
He was conscious. Board-
man Ambulance, Irrigon
Fire Department and Ir-
rigon Ambulance respond-
ed, but the patient refused
transport.
-Irrigon Fire Depart-
ment, Irrigon Ambulance,
Boardman Fire Depart-
ment received report of
a house on fire on Third
St. in Irrigon. Irrigon Fire
Department, Boardman
Fire Department, Irrigon
Ambulance and MCSO
responded.
-Irrigon Ambulance
received report from the
Irrigon Medical Clinic of
a 64-year-old female with
a possible heart attack. She
refused transport.
-Irrigon Ambulance
received report from the
Irrigon Medical Clinic of
a 44-year-old male with
previous cardiac problems
whose left arm had gone
numb. Irrigon Ambulance
transported him to Good
Shepherd Hospital in
Hermiston.
October 27: -Morrow
County Sheriff ’s Office
received report from a third
party who said she had got-
ten a call advising that her
juvenile son was acting out
and being violent at their
residence.
-MCSO received report
that a male had destroyed a
door at Lakeview Heights
on Willow Creek Rd., Hep-
pner. MCSO arrested Bran-
don Michael Kurzenberger,
33, for Disorderly Conduct
and Criminal Mischief II.
He was lodged at Umatilla
County Jail with $9,000
bail.
-MCSO received re-
quest to have a 17-year-
old male escorted off the
property at a residence on
Thomas Ave. in Irrigon.
The request was cancelled.
-MCSO received re-
port of a purple bike by the
bridge on Linden Way in
Heppner, with clothes all
over, so that people can’t
get by. The subject called
back and advised that the
subject picked up his be-
longings.
-MCSO received report
from a woman on Pheasant
Lane in Irrigon that she
noticed that the people who
live in a white trailer behind
them on Division St. had
taken down her fence line
and used it to build a small
enclosure on their property.
The neighbors said they
would put a new fence up.
-MCSO received report
from a woman on River-
view Ave. in Irrigon who
said she had a lot of cats
at her residence and would
like a trap to catch them.
-MCSO received report
from a subject at Bunker
Hill Lane/Highway 74,
Heppner, who said he hit
a deer and there was front
end damage. A deputy re-
sponded, the animal was
dispatched and the vehicle
was driveable.
-MCSO received report
of a vehicle repossession
on Marshal in Boardman.
The vehicle was located in
Richland.
-MCSO received report
of a missing 12-year-old
female on Third St. in Ir-
rigon. They reported that
she had walked down the
street to use free wii and
hadn’t returned. They ad-
vised she had been missing
for several hours. The caller
said she only talks to a few
friends and they do not
know where she was. She
was located.
-MCSO received report
of a potato truck driving on
Utah Ave. in Irrigon again.
-MCSO, Irrigon Am-
bulance received report
of a 21-year-old female in
Irrigon possibly having a
seizure, but conscious.
-Boardman Ambulance
received request for an am-
bulance for a 24-year-old
male, conscious, with tight-
ness in his chest, having
trouble breathing. Board-
man Ambulance respond-
ed and transported him to
Good Shepherd Hospital in
Hermiston.
-Boardman Ambulance
received request for an am-
bulance for a 59-year-old
male with a severe infec-
tion. Boardman Ambulance
responded and transported
him.
-Boardman Ambulance
received request for an am-
bulance for a 46-year-old
male who had cut his head
on an aluminum bar. He
was transported to Good
Shepherd Hospital.
-Irrigon Ambulance
received a request to trans-
port a 70-year-old to the
hospital. The patient was
transported.
-Irrigon Ambulance re-
ceived report of a 65-year-
old female with stomach
issues. She was transported
to Good Shepherd Hospital.
October 28: -Morrow
County Sheriff ’s Office
received report that a box of
screws was spilled in both
lanes of trafic on Hwy. 74,
Lexington. The Oregon De-
partment of Transportation
Morrow County Dis-
trict Attorney Justin Nelson
has released the following
report:
-Efren Hurtado Jr., 24,
was convicted of Reck-
lessly Endangering another
Person, a Class A Misde-
meanor. Sentence of 180
days jail time was sus-
pended and the defendant
sentenced to 24 months
bench probation, to include
40 hours of community
service and forfeiture of a
seized irearm to Boardman
Police Department. Fines,
fees and assessments on this
count were $200.
-In addition, Efren
Hurtado Jr., 24, was con-
victed of Possession of a
Controlled Substance –
Methamphetamine, a Class
C Felony, and sentenced to
18 months formal probation
with Conditional Discharge
upon successful completion
of conditions. Conditions
included 90 sanction units
with ive units to be used
for 80 hours of community
service, and drug evaluation
and treatment. Fines, fees
and assessments totaled
$200.
-Jesse R. Boyd, 19, was
sentenced to conditional
discharge on a count of
Possession of a Controlled
Substance Schedule 2 –
Hydrocodone, a Class C
felony, and was given 18
months formal probation
subject to 90 sanction units.
Probation conditions in-
cluded ive sanction units
to be used for 80 hours of
community service, and
requirements regarding
the use and possession of
drugs, including substance
abuse evaluation and any
recommended treatment.
Fines, fees and assessments
totaled $500.
Justice Court
Report
Morrow County Justice
of the Peace Ann Spicer
has released the following
Justice Court report:
-Nick Lulay, 27, of
Baker City, OR was found
guilty of Taking Branch
Bull Elk Closed Season and
was ined $335.
-David Shane Molina
was found guilty of Im-
proper Use of Emergency
Reporting System and Theft
III and was initially ined
$2,000 and sentenced to
180 days jail time. How-
ever, the defendant was
sentenced to two years
bench probation, to include
successful alcohol evalua-
tion and treatment, with jail
time waived upon success-
ful completion of proba-
tion. Of the ines, $500 was
waived, to reduce total ines
to $1,500, with the option
of completing community
service work to pay off the
remaining ines.

from a subject on Hwy. 74,
Ione, that two dogs, one
black and white and one
white with tan on face and
ears, showed up at her place
with their faces and ears
illed porcupine quills and
needed medical attention.
-MCSO received report
from a subject on Hwy. 730
in Irrigon that her 16-year-
old son was acting out and
kept running away. She said
he wouldn’t go to school
and was running down
the street toward Umatilla
as she was on the phone.
MCSO responded.
-MCSO received re-
port from a subject at the
Umatilla National Wildlife
Refuge on Riverview Lane
in Irrigon that his dog ran
off. He said he believed
he saw it swimming to an
island a couple miles away.
He requested help from a
deputy.
-MCSO received re-
port from a subject at the
Irrigon Justice Court that
her sister was staying at a
residence with a male who
was believed to have a war-
rant out for him, as well as
being armed and danger-
ous. The caller said she had
been getting messages from
her sister saying that she
feared for her life. MCSO
responded. MCSO arrested
Laine Darrel Prinzing, 33,
on a California Department
of Corrections warrant for a
probation violation and on
local charges of Criminal
Trespass I and Giving False
Information to a Peace Of-
ficer with additional bail
of $12,000. Courtney N.
Allen, 27, was arrested for
Criminal Trespass I and
released on own recogni-
zance.
-MCSO received report
from Gilliam County of a
medical emergency in the
mountains.
-MCSO, Irrigon Ambu-
lance received report that
an 83-year-old female had
fallen in her bedroom and
hit her head. The woman,
who was conscious, was
transported.
-MCSO received report
from an Irrigon woman that
a bottle of oxycodone had
been stolen from her purse.
A deputy responded and
took the report.
-MCSO received report
from a male in Irrigon that
a skill saw underneath his
deck had been stolen. He
said his son and an un-
known female had taken it.
-MCSO received report
from an Irrigon subject that
he was receiving harass-
ing phone calls. A deputy
responded and determined
that the call was unfounded.
-MCSO received report
from a Boardman man that
he and his wife had just got-
ten back from Colorado to
discover that someone had
tried to break into their shop
while they were gone.
-MCSO received report
of suspicious activity at the
Les Schwab in Heppner
after hours. The caller said
that there were lights on and
people in the lobby watch-
ing TV, but the business
appeared closed otherwise.
The management advised
it was their cleaning crew.
-Boardman Ambu-
lance received report from
a 57-year-old Boardman
woman that she had been
in severe pain in every
joint all night. Boardman
Ambulance responded, but
she refused transport.
