The win brings their non- league record to 3-0 on the season. Against the Outlaws, Heppner scored the first four times they touched the ball. Their first touchdown came when quarterback Kaden Clark threw the ball over the outstretched arms of an Outlaw defend- er to Logan Grieb for a 39-yard touchdown play. Grieb kicked the PAT and the score was 7-0 just four minutes into the game. The dominating Hep- pner defense forced an Outlaw punt that gave the Mustangs good field posi- tion near midfield. Only four plays later, Clark found Weston Putman open and they connected on a 31-yard touchdown pass play. The Grieb kick was good and that made the score 14-0. Another Outlaw punt gave the Mustangs good field position again. Two big running plays by CJ Kindle, one that gained 21 yards and one that gained 27 yards, led to a one-yard touchdown run by Clark. The PAT kick by Grieb was good again and Heppner led 21-0 as the first quarter ended. Early in the second quarter, the Heppner de- fense forced Enterprise to punt. Only two plays later the Mustangs scored again. It was another Clark to Put- man pass play that covered 45 yards. That touchdown made the score 27-0. On the next Enterprise possession, Patrick Collins intercepted an Outlaw pass and rumbled 28 yards for a touchdown to give Hep- pner a 33-0 lead. Then, on the very next Outlaw pos- session, Putman stepped in front of a pass and in- tercepted it. He carried it in from 26 yards out for another score. Clark ran the ball in for the two-point conversion to make the score 41-0 with a little over nine minutes to go in the second quarter. The teams then traded possessions. Heppner got the ball back near midfield after an- other Enterprise punt. Two plays later, Kindle scored when he ran the ball down the sideline 39 yards for the touchdown. The Grieb PAT kick was good and the Heppner lead was now 48-0. The Mustangs did get the ball back later, but Clark took a knee to end the half with Heppner leading 48-0. The second half would be played with a running clock as Heppner was ahead by more than 45 points. At this point in the game the Heppner coaches worked in many of the younger Mustang players. Every- one got to play in the game and most of the starters sat out the entire second half. The team was able to stretch out a couple long drives in the half, one of seven plays and one of 13, but they could not score. Quarterback Kevin Smith 398 yards of total offense in the game and they held Enterprise to 144. Clark ended the night 4-7 passing for 136 yards and three touchdowns. Kevin Smith was 2-5 for 10 yards and had one pass Jake Lindsay holds while Logan Grieb punts. The next time the Mustangs got the ball, Kaden Corbin took the handoff and outraced the entire Pirate team down the right sideline for a 69- yard touchdown. That made the score 14-0 at the end of the first quarter. The Heppner defense forced Riverside to punt again. It did not take long for the high-powered Mus- tang offense to score again. A four-play drive ended when Smith completed a pass to Wolters for a 37- yard touchdown. That made the score of the game 20-0 in favor of the Mustangs. Once again the Hep- pner defense forced an- other Pirate punt. After a Heppner Junior/Senior High School will be holding conferences for all seniors Wednesday, Sept. 30.
