Parish priest helps expand students’ view
of the world
Adan Guerra, a fourth
grader at Heppner Elemen-
tary School, loves learn-
ing…and he also loves
eating.
Last week he read a
story about immigrants and
the foods they brought with
them to the United States.
At the end of the story were
three recipes from around
the world. When Adan saw
that one of the recipes was
from India, he had an idea.
“Father Papa is from
India. Maybe he knows
how to make this food!”
Adan exclaimed.
Sure enough, St. Pat-
rick’s Catholic Parish
priest, Father Papa Rao
Pasala, went to the school
and helped Adan cook the
food, green pulao, for his
class. The dish was a big hit,
as the students ate seconds
and asked for thirds.
Father Papa also
showed the students where
