CARD OF THANKS
We would like to express
our sincere gratitude to the
Heppner and Boardman
Station 7 fire departments
for the quick response and
professionalism in putting
out the tractor fire we had
on March 31st.
The time and training you
must put in are obvious
when your community
needs you. We are lucky to
have such great services and
hard working individuals
volunteering their time.
Also thank you to our
neighbor, Mark Cutsforth
for calling it in quickly and
protecting us from a worse
situation.
Thank you!!

our friends and family who
have shown such great
compassion this last week.
She loved this community.
She would have been truly
touched by your tributes.
Thank you.

We have so many people
to thank for helping us
during the past 7 weeks. It
was because of the actions
and prayers of so many that
we are now both happily
at home. Thanks to Les
and Janice Paustian, Rusty
and Cyde Estes, and the
Heppner EMTs for their
quick response and getting
Rick the immediate aid
he needed. A huge thank
you to the staff at Pioneer
Memorial Hospital for
Rick's life saving medical
care. We have always been
a strong proponent for
our hospital and this only
reaffirms our belief we

are incredibly fortunate
to have this facility in our
community.
Thank you also for
the many prayers, cards,
flowers, phone calls and
visits while Rick was at
Kadlec and recovering
at home. Thanks also for
the many meals provided
during this time.
We would also like
to express our sincere
appreciation to th the entire
nursing staff at PMH for
the heartfelt care Susan
received during her stay.
You helped make a difficult
time away from home much
easier.
It is often during trying
times we are reminded of
all we have to be thankful
for. We are so grateful to
live in a community where
we are surrounded by such
caring people.

The Assisted Living
would like to use this means
for thanking all the many
volunteers and friends for
their continued support
these last few months.
Our thanks to those who
continue to help with all the
weekly ongoing activities
of Bingo, crafts and games,
piano music, reading of the
Gazette-Times, provision
for rides, exercises, movies
and the library exchange.
We appreciate all the
food contributions we have
had from clubs and indi-
viduals. This includes the
prime rib for Christmas Eve
and the crab to celebrate the
New Year.
Cash donations have
helped toward the build-
ing of the new sun room,
activities and outings, as
well as the purchase of a
Precision Weather Station.
The weather watchers will
report its data to the SWCD
as well as providing topics
for conversations.

TRI-COUNTY PROPANE
Donations have made it
possible for several field
trips. One evening was
spent viewing the Christ-
mas lights. A group went to
Father Condon’s production
of “Thought of Hope”, the
St. Patrick’s Great Green
Parade, the Little Feet con-
cert, a presentation at the
Christian Church on Islam,
Veteran’s Day assembly at
the high school and a trip to
Boardman to check out the
Sage Center.
Thanks to the volunteers
for helping with Christ-
mas cards, writing letters,
helping a resident bake a
birthday cake and a crafty
person who loves to make
all occasion cards for the
residents to use.
The pre-schoolers are
always a welcome group.
They were at the Terrace
for a Halloween party when
they made jack-o-lanterns
from pumpkins and did
some trick or treating. They
were back for a Valentine’s
Day party, trading Val-
entines and having tasty
treats.
Christmas included
groups of volunteers deco-
rating within the facility,
including the tree, and there
was a competitive ginger-
bread house building.
Thanks to the Old Time
Fiddlers, carolers and piano
recitals for bringing music
into the residents’ lives.
The residents themselves
have given back several
different ways over the last
six months. One special
day they honored our local
firemen, showing apprecia-
tion for their fire drills and
educational instructions for
the staff. The second op-
portunity was for the Ione
and Heppner booster clubs’
dinners and auctions. This
included making up baskets
for their auction. It was a
way the “Hill” can thank
the schools for their sup-
port. They also recognized
the maintenance men who
