Donkey basketball is coming to town
ride real, live donkeys in
donkey basketball game
this Thursday, April 3.
The event, sponsored
by Heppner FFA, will take
place in the Heppner High
School gym starting at 7
p.m. Team Ballin’ Burrows,
made up of Jake Lindsay,
Logan Grieb, Beau Wolt-
ers, Patrick Collins, CJ
Kindle, Coby Dougherty
and Keegan Gibbs, will
take on the Dunkin’ Don-

Players have been train-
ing extensively. Donkey
sports, Inc. of Entiat, WA
will provide the donkeys
and the game officials. Of-
ficials will strictly enforce
rules against players abus-
ing donkeys, but say there
are no such rules against
donkeys abusing players.

available from FFA Advisor

$8 for adults, $6 for seven
through 12 th grade, and $4
for kindergarten through
sixth grade. Tickets are
available at the door for
$9 for adults, $7 for high
school students and $5 for
elementary students.
In addition, Friends
of Heppner FFA alumni
are having a dessert auc-
tion during game halftime.
Proceeds go towards the
projects of the Friends of
Heppner FFA, including
the annual scholarship for
seniors. A full list of des-
serts is not available but
it is rumored there will be
homemade nutter butters
up for grabs.

Sheriff’s Report
September 17 (cont.):
-MCSO received report
from a male at Oregon Hay
that another male was just
inside his vehicle and that
subject put something in
his pocket and, when the
caller asked him to empty
his pockets, he refused.
The caller said that the sub-
ject, a male in his mid-20s,
wearing a light blue shirt
and baggy blue jeans, was
walking toward the refuge.
MCSO arrested Joshua
Michael Crites, 31, for
Possession of a Controlled
Substance-methamphet-
amines, Unauthorized Use
of a Motor Vehicle and
Theft III. He was lodged at
Umatilla County Jail with
$15,000 bail.
-MCSO Deputy re-
ceived report from a truck
driver that he had just called
in a report near Space Age
that a driver appeared to be
smoking out of a glass pipe.
-MCSO received report
from a Heppner man that
his 82-year-old wife had
fallen and was lying on the
floor on her back. Heppner
Ambulance, Heppner Fire
Department and MCSO
responded. She was trans-
ported to Pioneer Memorial
Hospital.
-MCSO received report
of a missing 12-year-old
boy who had gone to a
friend’s house and was sup-
posed to be home within
an hour. The caller said she
tried calling his cell phone,
but it was going straight
to voicemail. The caller’s
daughter found him at the
skate park in Irrigon.
-MCSO received report
of suspicious activity at
Riverview Lane in Irrigon.
The caller said an older
male came up from the river
and said his boat motor was
messed up and asked to bor-
row some WD40. She said
she advised him she didn’t
have any and there was no
one around who could help
him. She requested that the
subject be checked on since
she was there alone.
-MCSO received report
from an Irrigon woman
that she and her husband
had been fighting for sev-
eral weeks and he was now
making suicidal threats.
She said she was currently
at a neighbor’s and he was
in their backyard making a
phone call.
-MCSO received report
of a deer hit, but still alive
on Hwy. 74-Lena. A deputy
responded.
September 18: -A call-
er reported a deer was hit
and was still alive but on the
road on Hwy. 74. A deputy
responded.
-Morrow County Sher-
iff’s Office was advised
that Christopher Dwayne
Schneider, 32, was arrested
on an Irrigon Justice Court
warrant for Failure to Ap-
pear on Driving While Sus-
pended – Misdemeanor.
Subject was lodged at Two
Rivers Correctional Institu-
tion with a Morrow County
hold placed.
-A MCSO deputy re-
ported being en route to
Umatilla County Jail to
look at some gold a person
was using to try to pay a
fine there.
-A caller in Irrigon
complained that sometime
during the night someone
took out all the mailbox-
es and a fence. Unknown
when it happened; fence
was noticed by caller’s
husband at 6 a.m. on his
way to work.
-A man in Ione reported
that his mother’s shed had
been broken into. He re-
quested contact since his
mother was out of town.
A deputy responded and
determined nothing had
been taken.
MCSO received a driv-
ing complaint of a black du-
ally pickup driving 45 mph
and swerving all over the
road at Hwy. 207/Baseline .
