It takes more than the luck o’
the Irish to fill prescriptions of the month
This fellow jumped the gun when
he wandered into Murray’s Drug
in Heppner a full week before the
Wee Bit O’ Ireland Celebration.
It takes more than the luck o’
the Irish to do a good job filling
prescriptions, though; it turns
out the leprechaun who stopped
by to work the pharmacy counter
last Friday was simply a practical
joke being played on substitute
pharmacist Darren Preuniger,
according to Murray’s employees.

Richard Jones of Hep-
pner was one of the lucky
winners of the February
drawing in Community
Bank’s Silver Sweepstakes.
On Feb. 27, the last
full business day of the
month, Community Bank
conducted the second of
12 monthly drawings as
part of the Silver Sweep-
stakes. In celebration of
the bank’s 60 th anniversary,
each month 60 ounces of
silver bullion will be given
away, one 10-ounce bar
each to six lucky winners.
With 14 branches, that will
be 14 names advanced to
the prize drawings each
month. A random drawing
of six names will determine
the lucky winners for the
month.
Aside from Jones, Feb-
ruary winners are: Laura
Wortman of Pendleton;
Barbara Hilde of Enter-
prise; Matthew Scarfo of
La Grande (drawn from
downtown location); Ni-
cole Lewis from La Grande
(drawn at Valley Branch);
and Becky Swanson of
Walla Walla (drawn at Col-
lege Place branch).
The Community Bank
Heppner Branch has been
a lucky location, so far pro-
ducing two winners in two
drawings. Mike Rossman of
Heppner won a silver bar in
the January drawing.
Entries may be made
once each business day at
a local Community Bank
branch. There is no pur-
chase necessary and a full
disclosure is available at
Community Bank or on-
line at www.community-
banknet.com. Next drawing
will occur on March 31,
2015.
