Lady Cards split games in exciting
weekend play
The Lady Cards trav-
elled to Dufur last weekend
but didn’t bring home a win
for their efforts, eventu-
ally falling to the Rangers
28-38.
The Lady Cardinals
led for the first quarter 11-
10, and held their own at
halftime with a one-point
difference, Ione 19 and
Dufur 20.
The third quarter
proved to be the Rangers’
turning point to lengthen
the lead, and Ione wasn’t
able to take it away from
them.
“Even though we lost,
we gained a lot of confi-
dence after this game. The
kids played very well and
put together a full game,
and that has been what we
have been working towards.
Each week they continue to
improve, and I am excited
to see where this will take
us moving forward,” said
Coach Mike Garrett.

Despite their loss to the
Rangers, the Lady Cards re-
grouped to meet Arlington
head-on the next day.
Arlington traveled to
Ione Saturday for what
seemed to be a rematch of
sorts. Ione had played Ar-

league games of the season,
ending with a loss.

job recovering and we were

is very impressive,” said
