tion will provide up to
12 scholarships for high
school seniors w hose
families are members o f
the Oregon Wheat Grow­
ers League. T he scholar­
ship is also open to stu­
dents who work part-time
for grower members and
students whose family
members are employed
hy OWGL members. The
scholarship requirements
include an essay on any
topic related to the wheat
industry and a summary
o f the student’s school
and community involve­
ment.
One $1,000 aw ard
w ill be made to a qualify­
ing student from each o f
the participating coun­
ties, which include Mor­
row, U m atilla, Baker,
Gilliam, Klamath, Mal-
heur, Sherman, Union,
Wallowa and Wasco.

the next several weeks
to allow for hazard tree
removal along 5.5 miles

mented for public safety,
will include a segment
o f forest road 23 and for­
est road 2200040 w ithin
the Sunflower Fire foot­
print,” said Ann Niesen,
Heppner District Ranger.

its junction with forest
road 22 and forest road
2128, and forest road
