for the superintendents and
the 4-H and Ag agents. She
also was responsible for en
tering all of the 4-H data and
results post fair that needed
to be submitted to State Fair
which sometimes had to be
done during the week of fair,
which could be extremely de
manding. She worked with
Extension Agent Bill Brod
erick until his retirement in
November of 2007, and then
with Agent Claire Sponcel-
ler from that point until 2010.
Darcee's favorite part of her
job was getting to see the 4-H
kids and leaders during Fair
week. Most of the year she
was receiving and handling
their paperwork, so it was
nice to get to see their faces!
In 2010 Darcee left the
Extension Office to be more
available for her kids. She
now volunteers at the school,
and is the Parent Teacher Club
President. Slater now owns
and operates Carlson Sales
Inc. and they still live in Hep
pner. In her free time Darcee
enjoys watching her kids'
sports activities, playing golf,
and traveling.
We are honored to dedi
cate this year's Premium Book
to Darcee for her decade of
commitment and the hard
work she put forth to make the
Fair happen each year and to
improve the Fair for the future
kids of 4-H and agriculture!
