lone pool opens Friday
The lone Community
Pool w ill open for the
season this Friday with a
celebration from 1-4 p.m.
The co m m u n ity is
invited to attend the event,
which includes not only
free pool admission but also
free hotdogs and popcorn.
The school is also
planning free swimming
lessons for all elementary
students starting Monday
and going through the end
o f the school year.

Heideman will take place
June 11 at 3:45 p.m. in the
school library; Heideman
will be sharing information
about swimming lessons
and the AAU swim team.
F iv e le v e ls o f
swimming lessons in two
separate sessions will be
offered mornings, Monday
through Friday. Swimming
lessons are $30 per two-
week session.
A A U sw im te a m
practice will also be held
in the mornings.
Beginning Friday. June
13, the pool will hold open
swim 1-4 p.m. daily, adult
swim 4-5 p.m. daily, and
open swim 5-8 p.m. daily.
Cost is $2 per session or
$100 for a family season

be held at the Heppner
S eventh-day A dventist
church, w ill include a
slideshow and a range
o f music presented as a
biblically-based sermon in
music.
The Pettibones come to
the area from College Place,
WA. Dale plays a variety of
brass instruments, including
the baritone euphonium,
flugelhorn, trum pet and
more. Carol plays wind
instrum ents such as the
clarinet and the saxophone,
among others. Dale works
as a substitute music teacher
at an elementary school, as
well as arranging music and
serving as director of the
Valley Brass music group, attend the free concert; a
