about 1995. The property

and is generally located to
the north of Interstate 84
and east of Patterson Ferry
Road. This is the second of
at least three public hearings
with the final hearing before
the County Court.
Opportunity to voice

letter or failure to provide
sufficient specificity to

Bank of EO among
200 top performing
banks in nation
HEPPNER—American Banker magazine has ranked
two Oregon banks among the top 200 community banks
in the country.
The magazine, a trade publication based in New York
City, named BEO Bancorp of Heppner and Centerpointe
Community Bank of Hood River to the list based on
average return of shareholder equity between 2011 and
2013. Banks with less than $2 billion in assets were
eligible.
At 12.72 percent average return, BEO Bancorp
ranked 47; with a 12.17% average return, Centerpointe
Community Bank ranked number 58.

HEPPNER— BEO Bancorp and its subsidiary,
Bank of Eastern Oregon, upon completion of the annual
shareholders meeting in Heppner, elected Gary Neal as
chairman of the board and E. George Koffler as vice
chairman.
Neal joined the board in 1999. He is
a general manager for Port of Morrow.
Gary and his wife Kathy live in Boardman.
Koffler joined the
board in 1994. He retired
from employment with

BMCC hosts FFA
shop skills contest
PENDLETON,
OR—The Blue Mountain
Community College
( B MC C ) Ag r i c u l t u r e
Department hosted the
Blue Mountain District
FFA Shop Skills Contest
on April 24 at BMCC.
Approximately 200 high
school students participated
in contests ranging from
tractor driving to surveying,
from oxy-acetylene cutting
to tool identifications.
Woodworking, plasma
arc cutting, arc welding,
master mechanic, plumbing,
electricity, meats judging,
oxy-acetylene welding, gas
metal arc welding and drill
bit sharpening rounded out
the field of events.

high schools all were
represented. This was a
career development event
for the students, showcasing

State Senator Bill Hansell
was also present and said
he was encouraged by the
enthusiasm that he saw
in the students and the
diversity of offerings in
the BMCC agriculture
