4-H snack shack a fair

County Fair w ouldn't be quite
the same without a meal or two
from the 4-H snack shack. Not
only is the Snack Shack a fair
tradition, it also produces the
major source o f income for the
Morrow County 4-H Leaders
Council.
T he c o u n c il u se s th is
in c o m e to p r o v id e su c h
programs as 4-H camp, awards,
scholarships and materials for
all 4-H program areas. All
4-H members benefit from the
proceeds that are earned by the
Snack Shack.

lea d e rs h elp in the Snack
Shack at fair. We also have
a few businesses that have
4-H Snack Shack

days; these include continued
su p p o rt from the M orrow
County G rain G row ers and
th eir W ednesday sh ift, the
Bank o f Eastern Oregon and
their Thursday shift and other
local businesses like the NRCS
that are also starting to make a
snack shack shift part o f their
annual service.
They do this because they
und erstan d how im portant
the proceeds are to the 4-H
program. The income earned
is invaluable to our program;
volunteers are always welcome
to help in the Snack Shack.

Although Morrow County
hasn’t even begun to harvest
the 100 years o f m em ories
that will be on display at the
M orrow C ou n ty F a ir next
week, it is tim e for to start
th in k in g about next y e a r’s
theme.
What will we call the 101*
Morrow County Fair?
4-H/FFA m em bers, that
one is up to you. Plus, any 4-H
or FFA group that comes up
with the winning theme will
get $50 for their group.
So get those thinking caps
on, and le t’s see w ho can
come up with the best theme
ever. To enter Morrow County
Fair's theme contest, have your
advisor or leader contact Zech
Hintz at the fair office, or one
o f the M orrow County Fair
board members.
