IMAGO assemblies held in Irrigon, Boardman schools
Im agine a seeing a
hippo couple battling for
the blanket, knocking each
other off the bed and jump­
ing on the pillows. Not
a word was said, but the
masks and costumed bod­
ies said volumes. This was
the introduction to IMAGO
Mask Theater Assemblies
for Irrigon and Riverside
Junior and Senior High
Students.
The sleepless hippos
were followed by hungry
anteaters, slipping into the
audience in search of ants;
Jumping Frogs; a cat trying
to fight its way out of a gi­
ant crackling paper bag; an
acrobatic glow worm; and

The recent IMAGO assem­
blies at Irrigon and Boardman
high schools opened with the
sight of actors in hippo masks
and costumes like these per­
forming wordless plays for
