Health district narrows

-Irrigon A m bulance re ­
ceived request for an am­
bulance from the daughter
of a 62-year-old insulin
dependent woman who said
her mother was having a
diabetic episode. An am­
bulance responded, but the
patient refused transport.
-Boardman Fire Depart­
ment advised they were at
the Little League Field for
opening ceremonies.
April 14: MCSO received
report from a woman in
Boardman that she had hit
a deer on 1-84 east.
-MCSO received report
from an Irrigon subject
that he was having a verbal
dispute regarding the legal
owner of a cell phone. He
requested deputy contact.
-M CSO arrested C urtis
James Drury, 31, for DUII
with a BAC of .10. He was
cited and released.
-MCSO received report
o f an abandoned vehicle
parked in the sagebrush on
Desert Rd. in Hermiston
with spray paint on it and
no license plates. MCSO
recovered a stolen Ford Ex­
plorer out of Hermiston.
-MCSO received report of
kids in a black Volkswagen
bug in a parking lot in Ir­
rigon. A deputy responded
and discovered no illegal
activity.
-MCSO received request for
an ambulance for a 23-year-
old woman 8-1/2 months
pregnant, having contrac­
tions and sharp pains. An
ambulance responded.
-MCSO received report
from an Irrigon man that
he wasn’t able to get into
a relative’s house. He re­
ported that the relative was
a heavy alcoholic and all the
doors were locked from the
inside. The caller requested
a deputy to make contact.
It was possibly and unat­
tended death.
-MCSO received report of
someone in a white Chevy
pickup, lifted with a roll bar
and short box dropping off a
pit bull puppy in lone.
-M CSO received report
from an Irrigon woman of a
dog that is penned up, very
thin with no water and little
food. She said she knew
the owner. A deputy made
contact and advised that the
dog was okay.
-MCSO received report of
a motor home on fire, just
south of the OHV Park on
Forest Service Rd., Hepp­
ner, and three vehicles leav­
ing the area at a high rate of
speed. The vehicles were
described as an early 90s
Dodge full sized pickup, a
red Toyota Tacoma and a
white Ford F350 crew cab.
USFS dispatch was notified
for a fire response.
April 15: MCSO received
report of a brown cow out
on the side of the road on
Hwy. 74, lone. A subject
was contacted who said
they would make sure the
cow was put back in.
-MCSO received request
for an assist in tow ing a do­
nated boat from the Board-
man Marina to Tidewater.
-MCSO received report
from an Irrigon woman that
her 17-year-old daughter
was being contacted by
a 21-year-old Pilot Rock
man. The caller said she
spoke with a Pilot Rock
Police Department officer
who told her she needed
to contact MCSO, so they
could contact PRPD.
The M orrow County
Health District Board con­
ducted face-to-face inter­
views with two candidates
for the district’s CEO posi­
tion and is in the process
of making their final selec­
tion.
The district initially re­
ceived around 50 appli­
cants for the job, which
was vacated by previous
CEO Michael Blauer who
took another administrative
position in Seaside. Former
CEO Victor Vander Does
has served as an interim
administrator since then.
The board then narrowed
the field down to eight
whom they interviewed by
Skype, before selecting the
top two finalists.
The two candidates ar­
rived in Heppner last week
for interview s with the
selection committee, which
included board Chair Larry
Mills, board members John
Murray, Leann Rea, David
Bums and Joe Perry, Vander
Does, MCHD C hief F i­
nancial Officer Nicole Ma­
honey, Dr. Betsy Anderson,
Molly Rhea, R.N., director
o f nursing services, and
Patti Allstott, MCHD hu­
man resources. The candi­
dates, one’s spouse and the
other's fiance, toured the
facilities and town of Hepp­
ner. Chamber of Commerce

the tours.
Mills said that the board
hopes to have an agreement
in place this week.
-MCSO received report
from an Irrigon woman that
she received a suspicious
call from a female who said
that her father just died and
then started to cry. She said
the caller did not give any
further information, but she
had the phone number.
-MCSO received report
from an Irrigon woman that
two pit bulls had just killed
a cat in her front yard and
the dogs were still there
mauling the cat. The caller
said she had reported the
animals before. Autumn
Nicole Thomas. 32, was
cited for two counts o f
M aintaining a Dog as a
Public Nuisance.
-MCSO arrested Rober­
ta Lynn Manning, 25, on
a H erm iston M unicipal
Court warrant for Failure
to Appear/Driving While
Suspended-misdemeanor.
She was lodged at Umatilla
County Jail with $10,000
bail.
April 16: MCSO received
report from an Irrigon
woman that she had a cat
in a trap to be picked up.
A deputy picked the cat up
and transported it to Pet
Rescue.
-MCSO received report
o f a female with a head
injury in Irrigon. A deputy
responded and the patient
was transported.
-MCSO gave subjects a
w arning for trespassing
at the tree farm on Front­
age Rd. The subjects were
taking photographs o f the
trees.
-MCSO received report
from a Heppner woman
that a female who used to
live next door to the caller
had been in her carport and
did something to her tractor,
in addition to taking rocks
from her yard.
-MCSO received report
from an Irrigon man that his
brother, who had been un­
characteristically angry and
irrational, was demanding
that he go to the residence.
A deputy responded and the
dispute was resolved.
-MCSO received report of
a motorcycle lying near
the desert in the morning,
and then in the afternoon
a couple kids were trying
to push it, but left it lying
in the middle of a field in
Irrigon.
-MCSO received report
of a female who had been
“ bouncing aro u n d ” the
Boardman and Stanfield
rest areas and the Pilot
Truck Stop. When people
at the Boardman rest area
contacted her, she said she
was w aiting for a male
friend to show up.
-MCSO received report of a
golden Lab at the Heppner
Shell station that was starv­
ing. The caller believed she
knew who owned the dog.
-M CSO received report
from an Irrigon woman that
her brother took her vehicle
earlier that day and would
not return it.
-MCSO received report of
a semi truck driving reck­
lessly on 1-84 Boardman.
-MCSO received report
from a Heppner man that
another man, the respon­
dent of a restraining order,
has been living with him.
The caller wanted MCSO to
inform the woman who had
taken out the restraining
order that nothing was to be
done with the respondent’s
stuff until they go to court.
-MCSO received report that
Cynthia Ann Brown, 24,
was arrested on a MCSO
warrant for Failure to Ap-
pear/Possession o f Meth-
am phetam ines. She was
lodged at Umatilla County
Jail with $10,000 bail.
April 17: MCSO received
request from an Irrigon
woman to have her cat
trap returned. She said a
deputy picked up the trap,
but it was hers and not the
sheriff’s office. She ad­
vised there were about five
more cats that needed to be
trapped.
