Christmas baskets
Center to be closed for
Christmas break
The Heppner Neighborhood Center has announced
it has Christmas gift baskets for sale. They invite the
community to stop by and check out the many Christmas
items they have for sale.
The center also asks community members to note that
it will be closed from Dec. 20 until Jan. 2, 2013.

The Heppner chapter of the American Legion and
Auxiliary will not have a December meeting, but voted
instead to have a holiday get-together Dec. 16 from 2 to
4 p.m. at the Rita and Leo Dezoete home.
Participants are asked to bring a plate of favorite
finger food and enjoy the holiday season with other
members.
Heppner Elks to
hold toy dinner
On Thursday, Dec. 13,
the Heppner Elks Club will
hold its annual toy dinner.
“This tradition started
approximately 17 years ago,
and the Elks Club has had
a good response from its
members over the years,”
says one Elks member.
“The toy dinner was started
as a way to help provide as
sistance to children during
the Christmas season, and
the tradition continues to
be an enjoyable event each
year.”
Dinner will begin at 6
p.m.. and members are en
couraged to bring in a new,
unwrapped toy in exchange
for a free dinner. The toys
will then be taken to the
