eBay workshop planned
The lone Public Library
in conjunction with Librar
ies of Eastern Oregon will
present a free community
workshop, “eBay For Fun
and Profit,” on Saturday,
Oct. 13, from 10 a.m. to
2 p.m. at the lone Public
Library.
The workshop is for
anyone interested in earn
ing money from selling
items online, whether as a
hobby or a business.
Instructor Bob Jones,
director of the Milton-Free-
w ater Library, has been
buying and selling on eBay
for a dozen years with cus
tomers in all 50 states and
more than a dozen countries
overseas.
He will present the lat
est information on success
in buying and selling on
eBay effectively, and will
conduct a live auction as
part of the workshop.
Jones said eBay is al
ways changing and that
savvy sellers and buyers
should stay aware of latest
trends and techniques.
, “According to eBay,
96 m illion active users
worldw ide buy or sell about
2,000 items every minute
on the eBay website, day
and night, all year long,”
Jones said. “Thousands of
those people earn a living
selling things on eBay, and
this w orkshop can help
people learn how they can
do it, too.”
The workshop is spon
sored by the Hood River
County Library District and
Libraries of Eastern Oregon
(LEO) as part of a series of
financial literacy programs
to help area residents bet
ter prosper during tough
economic times. Funding
for the workshop has been
contributed by the Oregon
Community Foundation.
Anyone interested in
attending this workshop
is urged to contact Anne
Morter (541-422-7429 or
am orter@ hughes.net) to
ensure a spot in the class.
