R esidents o f M orrow County are invited to submit entries in the Morrow County Fair Theme Contest. The dead­ line for entries is October 3 1, 2012 . The theme must reflect all of Morrow County (Boardman, Heppner, lone, Irrigon, Lex­ ington, etc.) and must be easy to incorporate into decorations. A committee made up of com­ munity members will decide the winner; the committee’s decision is final. The winner will receive 100 50-cent pieces ($50). Everyone is asked to keep in mind that next year is the centennial o f the M orrow County Fair; the rodeo started in 1922. Entry forms are available at the fair office. Forms can be returned to the office, where a box will be available for theme suggestions, or they can be mailed to Morrow County Fair, PO Box 464, Heppner, OR 97836. No spitting allowed It’s true... because of bud­ get cuts at the state fair level, there will be no Watermelon Seed Spitting contest this year. Keep practicing for next year!
